Its not really going to be a betrayal as shes not going to be our friend.
She remains our enemy in 11.2 only we share a goal of stopping dimensius.
Both parties full intend on going back to fighting after the jobs done. At least thats how i understand it.
So when she turns on us, it wont be a betrayal.

Yea but it wont exactly be a surprise either. Like we should have expected it and prepaired for it.
Idk it just feels… forced. It also kind of diminishes the threat she poses when she needs our help.

So I might be in the minority on this, but I think Dimensius is better for this patch than being a whole expansion boss. My reasoning is, we already fought him. Granted it was like a baby version of him, but making him a raid boss to introduce the larger threats of the Void is a great way to set up for Midnight. I’d rather see the big bad in Midnight be an original void baddie than someone we’ve already seen/fought. But for a patch, I think it works out really well for setting up the bigger plot of Midnight.

If thats how it goes down ill agree. However i have a feeling xally will be the final boss of midnight. Which im ok with.
I just dont really like that were teaming up with her for this patch. Like imagine if we went up to a reaper in ME and asked them for help and they willingly accept. It diminishes the threat they pose in a way.

If Xal is the final boss in Midnight, I might be a bit disappointed. I like her as a bad guy, but she’s yet to show me anything that sets her up as this big expansion wide baddie. Part of that comes from her being called the Herald of Dimensius. Which makes me think Dimensius is more powerful than her, so why would I fear her over him if that’s the case?
Xal seems like she would be a great first or second raid tier boss (much like Gul’Dan), but I want to see something that I would consider a galactic threat for when the Last Titan expansion comes. I don’t really think the Titans would fear Xal that much, but I could be wrong.

My assumption for her being a final boss would be her elevating herself to void lord status or something in a similar power scale.
I believe she started as a void creature then gained power somehow to get to where she is now. Maybe by consuming the essence of dimensius?
if the dark heart consumes dimensius she will have the power of a void lord

Yeah, that’s about the only explanation that could work. Like you said in a previous post though, that’s kinda generic, even for WoW. If she really does just absorb Dimensius and that’s the set up for Midnight, I won’t be upset, but I still consider Xal on the same level as like Gul’Dan in Legion or like Azshara in BFA. Both are very powerful and deadly, but not really an expansion long baddie.

Azeroth seems to have the ability to grant free will. Saw it with the old gods. They had azeroth under control but didn’t summon their masters the void lords. I think its because Azeroth gave them free will, maybe thats why xally is going to betray dimensius.
My goal with this patch is to never set foot in a Delve again.
I might even try M+ and fight that rather than do delves.
I’ll let you folks deal with that mountain-sized void lord while I gather butterflies and bobcats for my (er, their) ecodome.

For me its gonna come down to her involvement in 11.2. Is she just gonna show up in 3 min feet pic cinematic, or are we going to see her throughout the patch. If she only shows up at the very end, yonks the kill from us at the end of the fight, then Mary Poppins away until Midnight, I’m gonna be pretty disappointed.
My hope is that whatever Xal ends up doing in this expansion, the end result is Azeroth becomes a void titan in Midnight. I think that would be a really fun setup for TLT. The Pantheon comes back and we team up to save azeroth from the void. And we finally see the long awaited clash between the void and the titans.

I have a theory that the titans are actually coming to azeroth to wipe us all out.
We are essentially chaos and the titans order. Inorder to restore order to azeroth we would need to be clearer out. I have a feeling the last titan will have us fighting them.

I’ve had that thought too. Basically my ideas on TLT are either void azeroth vs titans vs void, or azeroth and us vs titans vs the void. Or maybe Mightnight will fully handle the void plot line, in which case I fully agree that the titans are just coming back to wipe us out and azeroth is going to be shining vanguard against them. If that is the case, I would LOVE if Elune finally made a full appearance, cause she and azeroth have some connection.
Azeroth vs the titans would also be a good way to bring back other celestial being like Elune, the Eternal Ones, Naaru, etc, to all team up and push back the Pantheon. Just a thought.
