The War in Warcraft

A mudslide that will drop a tide.

Who are you? Are you really someone special? We’re all mercs. That guy next to you is also a hero, just like you! We’re all heroes, but none of us get any real recognition cause we’re mercs first and foremost. You arent a main character. You’ll always be ‘for current cause’.

Well that’s a big sketchy with the lore.

  • In Legion, it appeared that Yogg-Saron was still active.
If I recall correctly, when we defeated him in Ulduar we merely bonked him back into his prison like a large slimy whackamole.

  • N’Zoth, should the writers decide to do so – Could be inside the dagger (which formerly held Xal’Atath) — that Wrathion stabbed into him, having left large magnitudes of his power in the husk that was left behind for us to ‘kill’ as a deceptive get away.

  • C’thun was referenced to have made an attempt to come back in a comic, although the canon on those is sort of mute majority of times from my understanding, so I’d say it really depends on Blizzard’s mood lol.

Following the defeat of N’Zoth in Battle for Azeroth, Magni Bronzebeard declared that Azeroth was made free of the grasp of the Old Gods, suggesting that a future return of Yogg-Saron was unlikely — That being said however, Magni may be known as ‘The speaker’ but he certainly isn’t an all-knowing deity god.

Mind you as well, with many cosmic beings when they’re annihilated from our reality they return to their seat of power, or realm of focus / binding (Elemental Planes) - So it’s possible the Old Gods & other powerful void-related beings could return someday.

Ultimately if Blizzard want something, or someone to come back – They have ways to write it as such (If they’re clever). lol

But they called me Champion!

I think it’s Metzens intention to put the old gods and the titans to bed for good.

That’s not to say that Blizzard doesn’t break them out later if the world soul saga turns out to be a hit and they are floundering post world soul saga.

I think Metzens is gonna drop a winner here and then peace out for good, no reason to leave anything unresolved in his mind.

Hmm I don’t think so, personally.
I do think we’re gonna see a resolution of sorts to the titans, and perhaps to the old gods – but certainly not ‘for good’.

That being said, Metzen loves the warcraft franchise. I doubt he’d kill the future of it on a good note for his own self-appeasement to leave. I’d wager he’d set up foundations for it to continue as long as possible.

I do too, I just think we just disagree on what that means.

I guess time will tell.

Maybe the real war is the friends we made along the way

I never did anything of valor and I was called a champion too.

I mean they said they plan on this saga being merely the end of an early chapter in WoWs long journey ahead, so I’d say he’d polish the game up back to great heights and set up the field for it to be in good hands moving forward a little after that, so he’s happy with the direction it’s going & can peace out with … well, peace of mind. lol

Yea, I do too. I think we just have different ideas of what that means in the context of the old gods and the titans

Not sure what you mean, but I suppose we’ll agree to disagree.

If they invent reason #213432 for a horde/alliance conflict and do the SAME THING AGAIN, the idea of peace after that will be ludicrous. BFA put an end to the faction conflict, and put new power structures in place so that we couldn’t have a corrupt warchief or whatever start another one.

The name says “Warcraft” so it must be always about war 100% of the time I guess. Is this the extent of pea brains thought processes? Latching on to labels like they are 100% gospel?

The war doesn’t always need to be Horde vs Alliance. They produce a war with some entity every single xpac. What is the crying for?

I dunno, being a soldier of fortune fighting on various fronts seems a fine story to me IF it’s done well.

The problem is Blizzard doesn’t do it well

The War in Warcraft is boring and done to death.

The people who want it end up being the same people who then complain that the main characters are boring/bad and the story/lore sucks.

Geee, I wonder why.

How about Champions of Azeroth.

Puts the focus on the characters and still alludes to a conflict.

I would not expect another faction battle (horde vs alliance) not only because it has already been done in an expansion but because that battle will never be done properly.

In order for that battle to be waged and done well you would need a clear victor and loser. Unless it is the final expansion of the game. Only then could Blizzard make the faction war have lasting impact with no fear of having to return to a happy status quo for both sides.

Ooo yay another War in Warcraft thread totally needed more of these anyway just gonna drop this here cause I couldn’t bother discussing the matter myself :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

It’s where all the murder hobos come together to make wrist bands for each other and future friends.

The faction war wouldnt make sense anymore due to the horrible writing of killing off any powerful Horde character, and making every Alliance character a demigod.

It would be over in 8 seconds.
