So… Trolls. Got it.
No I don’t think you do. You tried to gaslight how terrible WoW has become by bringing up FFXIV. Really?? Who’s the troll?
The only thing anyone can say WoW is superior at is game play and aesthetics, two very subjective things that are merely personal opinions. Objectively FFXIV is better in every way.
- They communicate with their players regularly.
The team not only engages with the players on their forums and keeps them up to date, but the game director himself conducts live streams. Here’s excerpts from a very recent one:
“Producers Toshio Murouchi and Naoki Yoshida launched the Letter from the Producer with disconsolate faces and announced the two-week delay right off the bat, bowing apologetically in front of the fans.”
"He (Yoshi) blamed his “own selfishness” as the biggest factor behind the two-week delay, saying he “couldn’t contain [his] desire to further improve Endwalker ‘s quality” due to the fact it will conclude the story that began nine years ago with A Realm Reborn ‘s release. As such, the expectations from the fans are high. . . "
The last time Blizzard “communicated” (and I use that word lightly) is through a forum rep who made two announcements that contradicted each other. Customers asked for clarification and Blizzard was silent. No clarification, no patch notes. You really have to wonder about the people who think this is okay. Which brings me to:
- FF behaves the way one would expect professionals to behave.
They don’t have multiple law suits, walkouts, or a reputation for acting like complete pigs. In fact, the number of women square enix employs has been increasing every year. They currently employ 10% more women than Blizzard. Most importantly, they are retaining the women they hire. They’re satisfied. They like working there. Actiblizz has the exact opposite problem.
- FF fixes bugs expeditiously.
Maybe you should go read up on the belt situation before trying to insinuate that there was a bug that made all the belts in FFXIV disappear.
There have been hundreds of bugs reported for TBC classic - many of them confirmed bugs that have yet to be addressed. Not even an acknowledgement. Just a small sample of these bugs would be the holiday events not working throughout the entirety of the events. Items STILL aren’t working. Fiora Longears has been missing for almost seven months. They can’t even drop a quest NPC in the game?
- The developers and producers of FFXIV have a passion for their game.
“Certain businesses might look at it only from business or profitability perspective, they do not have the patience to see it through. I wanted to continue to work on the project. By keeping at it, it’s actually the shortest way to success.” ~ Yoshi P
“When communicating with the community, I didn’t lie about anything mentioned. It was honest and straightforward, and properly making what I had promised to the fans, making sure that we regained the trust of our players.” ~ Yoshi P

Actiblizz doesn’t care about the passion, nor the game, nor its employees or customers. Their focus is “thrift.” Getting as much money as possible for the least amount of product. And it shows.
“We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making videogames,” ~ Kotick
- FFXIV is polished.
The fact that Yoshi personally announced the delay of Endwalker and explained why is a testament to that.

Blizzard threw out classic games using a modern client that is incompatible. They’re unable to figure out how to make it compatible, nor do they care. And so you will continue to see bug after bug after bug crop up with many things never getting fixed.
The lengths people go to in an effort to excuse actiblizz is astounding. WoW players have slammed FFXIV for years based on subjective criteria saying it’s too anime and the like, all the while playing a game that released an expac based on a stereotypical asian theme with pandas.
Objectively there isn’t even a comparison. Anyone who claims otherwise has to be a troll or completely ignorant about FFXIV.
I asked Blizzard on Twitter about this issue:
Apparently, they are aware of it and there is an upcoming fix:
Anyone check the PTR and see if it’s corrected?
That was 22 days ago in a long list of bug reports about the same issue. The NPC is still missing. At this point I wouldn’t count on any bugs being fixed. TBCC is barely on life support.
I haven’t been able to see my belt since Thanksgiving, but what does that have to do with the game?
Well isnt that sort if the problem. They found the bug that it sounds like had been repeatedly reported many months prior, while working on a different game…
Wow, I didn’t realize you had such a bad hot take. I think this is far more about you being triggered, than any comparison on my part.
I made a joke about the fact that they’d changed the system in FFXIV to remove belts.
Nothing more.
If WoW hurt you so bad in the past, you really should disengage from it.
Except the belts were never bugged in FFXIV like they are here. So you brought up stat switches in another game as a joke? This isn’t the FFXIV forums and it’s pretty dubious that you expected everyone to know what goes on in another game. Keep your day job I guess.
Not hurt, more like disgusted. And I already told you I’m not playing WoW anymore, you don’t need to keep trying to convince me to quit.
But you haven’t disengaged, because jokes about FFXIV can trigger your PTSD because you’re still doomscrolling the WoW forums.
You’re projecting. But you’re not the first person on these forums to behave this way. You’re not the first person who feels the need to defend WoW when someone points out it’s objectively inferior to other games.
So defend it.
Defend it without trolling people by calling them trolls. Defend it without pretending it’s up to you who can and can’t make negative comments. Defend it without insinuating someone who posts negative comments about WoW must have some personal defect. Defend it without blaming others for Blizzard’s decisions. Defend it on its merits.
It’s just amazing to me how far people will go to convince themselves that everything’s okay. The company is fine - it’s the customers that are responsible for everything. The customers are too “mean” to communicate with. (Apparently that includes patch notes on the launcher and Twitter, etc.) The customers are responsible for the hundreds of persistent bugs. The customers are responsible for the back-logged, under trained and ill informed customer service.
And of course, the customers are responsible for the state of WoW servers. Because Blizzard has no control over their own servers apparently.
This is what people tell themselves.
Blizzard is ultimately responsible for this game. They are ultimately responsible for every decision made in this game. So defend their decisions. Defend them without blaming those who have absolutely no say-so in how this game is run.
Since this is a thread about bugged belts, why don’t you start by defending their decision for not fixing this for months.
I’m projecting? Hahaha
I made a contextual joke about another game I also enjoy, and you lost your mind about how I’m supposedly defending Blizzard.
Calm down. Take a deep breath. Get off the forums for a bit. You cancelled your sub, so clearly you don’t want to be here any more. Don’t be. Do what you enjoy instead of being triggered by tongue-in-cheek joke about another game’s changes that occurred at the same time.
Your internet is making you angry.
crazy how a thread criticizing blizzard’s laziness and incompetence just turns into a cycle of gaslighting and deflecting onto ffxiv
maybe we don’t deserve a polished game
little things like this all add up, like a million paper cuts
i for one hate it when my belt disappears. very annoying
Oh, okay. Well as long as we’re telling people what to do…
When replying in a thread maybe you should post something relevant to the topic instead of throwing out a “joke” about another game that most people on this forum probably don’t play and have no idea what you’re talking about.
You most definitely shouldn’t call people trolls while doing this.
Blizzard allowed this bug to persist (and dozens of others). Do you have something to add to this topic or do you plan to continue RPing as a therapist jokester?
You admitted that you’re unsubbed, and only here to criticize WoW. That’s the definition of a troll.
The only people who should be allowed to criticize WoW are the people still subbed, so you can tell them to unsub.
I sense some control issues.
You’re still here and still whining about a game you already quit. I senses some attention issues.
The only people who should be allowed to criticize WoW are the people still subbed, so you can tell them to unsub.
Actually no. If people are subbed, they have a financial stake and should be paid attention to. If Blizzard did it more, that would make things far better.
People who quit, don’t play, and have no intention of returning are the toxic environment these forums have become.
If you don’t like it, don’t play, but hanging around like a bad smell, claiming to be uninvested while not looking for solutions, but just finding ways to be triggered about your “new favourite game” is precisely why decent conversation doesn’t exist.
