It is limited if you dont know. The first 4 to 5 weeks could be upgrade. But the rest are duplicates. The chance of duplicates gets higher the more weeks you spent on vault. FYI. The few upgrades you would get on M+15 Vault would serve you to be ready for Mythic Raiding.
If you are smart, you would fill up all the options on your vault. The No-Life top players belonging to top 5% would do it. They wont be on top 5% if they are lazy whiners.
I’m talking about more normal guilds that take 4-5 months to clear content. The guilds that are at best 2/11 right now a month into the raid.
And how a 278 item with the same stats is the same power regardless of its source. So I’m not sure how 278 from one source is there to “prepare” you to get 278 from a different source…
Thats why I like modern WoW. Before, only Raid is your gear progression. Now, you have M+ and its very generous although whiners whine for it. They want to abolish duplicates on Vault. But the Vault is not broken. It’s working as intended. You get more duplicates when you stay long on the Vault. But of course, duplicates and chance to get an upgrade is better than getting nothing from the actual dungeons.
So is the vault, because it helps gear up your entire raid group in one go.
The problem is you had to pre-roll coins before the boss to hope to raise the pity timer because the chance to get loot off a coin was abysmal, and even if you did manage to get loot, you still just got a random piece from their loot table. At worst it’s on par with the reroll coins, but I’d say it’s better overall.
That’s simply not true. Your odds of getting a particular item are higher with 3 slots vs 1 slot. Diminishing returns doesn’t mean you returns aren’t increasing.
Reroll tokens were not abysmal at all. The current vault situation is so freakin bad to the point guilds aren’t even killing the jailer on normal and heroic because that bosses loot table is atrocious outside of stuff that want the two hander. It’s legit not worth mudding up the vault with that trash.
At no point from wrath through MoP did I go entire tiers without getting gear I wanted. Yeah ML existed back then and helped a lot but the gear situation this xpac is by far the worst. When people asked for loot to be loot they didn’t ask for vanilla era rng more like wrath era.
The SL loot drop rates of 1 per 5 and tier 1 per 10 is actually the same as Wrath. Killing a boss in 10 man in Wrath dropped 2 items just like SL. 25 man dropped 5 items.
Players will get their tier sets WAY faster with the creation catalyst even with a 6 week delay than saving up the required emblems it took during ICC.
And you only have to get 1 set, not multiple sets of tier because back then bonuses didn’t work across specs.
If we could valor upgrade to 278 I’d be SO less tilted by getting a crappy vault. I know i’ll get what I want eventually, no matter the length of the timegate, and that’s all that matters.
JESUS…is that why I keep getting crit/vers gear in vault?? I never see haste/mastery cloth or my BIS trinkets… I never realized how bad it was. Why’d you have to show the math. D:
It’s better than what it was comparing to Legion and BFA but still bad because it’s pure RNG. People want more control and agency over loot and we had better systems in the game in previous xpacs.
If we were able to take the coins from the vault and purchase items we actually wanted there would be significantly less complaints.
