The Unofficial High Elf Discussion Megathread

A few years ago the High Elves killed Blood Elves in the streets of Dalaran and feed them to sharks in the underbelly and now you are pretending that Lor’themar all the sudden loves them? Just what.
A real Sin’dorei would consider a insult to be called Quel’dorei.

Makes you think if Elisande was as oblivious as the rest of her kind

She did have the power to see the future, didn’t she?

Maybe she knew all that was going on outside the bubble and kept the rest of the population ignorant to better control them

Would explain why Blood Elves and Nightborne were instant buddies, both coming from totalitarian states…

wouldnt they be inbreeding at that point? i thought thats why they started to mix with humans because theres only a few pures left anyway. eventually you will not be able to distinguish between a human/elf hybrid

She doesn’t look like one. She doesn’t dress like one. This is false propaganda, i all ever wanted was to have a character that look like Alleria, but i was fooled!

TBH I think the fact that they gave themselves a new name in Thalassian speaks volumes in itself.

Becoming Blood Elves wasn’t just some diplomatic brand change. It’s a shift in core identity.

that is under the assumption there are only a couple hundred.

There are likely tens of thousands of high elves. Half elves and non pure high elves pretty much fall under the high elf term as well. They don’t exist int heir own communities they fold into the high elf culture.

No real proof that WoW has genetics.

But populations are based on plot anyways.

There are like 8 Void Elves. My Sin’dorei Paladin has killed hundreds.

There are as many as there needs to be.

This is especially true of the old RTS. 3 dudes show up on an Island but if they can make a barracks and a farm… unlimited soldiers.

First the name changed, after, it was their visual identity, then it was their culture and views on power and morals, then their allegiances and diplomacy, and then their physic appearance. A lot of things happened in 20 years that didn’t in the previous thousands.

(Thanks for this Archmage )

I did a few calculations based on some loose estimates of population sizes of comparable medieval towns based on the movie depictions of Stormwind and Dalaran. It’s all a bit complicated and makes a few assumptions, but if Stormwind and Dalaran are meant to be about the size they are in the movies (which, given the movie Dalaran is comparable to the WC3 cinematic Dalaran, we can) there’s about ten to twelve thousand High Elves living in Dalaran and Stormwind based on the representative population in game.

Yeah, reinforcing the point I made earlier about long-lived species suddenly becoming very quick to action for the sake of the speed of the ‘mortal’ plot timeframe.

Wow Casmir. What an amazing journey.

You touched a point that no one touched before, one of the best comments from lately.

In the most recent showings of the Sunwell there are no High Elves there.

It’s likely that the war and the recent events with Alleria have made him resent that kindness.

also probably wasn’t too pleased that his people living in dalaran were imprisoned, burned alive, shot with arrows, and a case of one being fed to a shark.

after all he did flip a bench when we told him this all happened and that was the first action he has taken since becoming regent lord.

It resulted in him flipping a table.

That’s the most he’s ever done outside of exiling people.

But it would make sense to ban the High Elves after the purge of Dalaran given that there could be sabatures.

Where can I experience this?

I mean, I feel like open warfare is a legitimate reason to close the city gates and bar entry to a group that are affiliated with the enemy. I’d be more concerned if there were still High Elves allowed to waltz about.

Purge of Dalaran.

Horde version of the Operation Shieldwall rep quest from MoP.

There are youtube videos.

the 5.1 questline. It is the very last quest. He tells halduron to summon the rangers and aethas to gather the remaining sunreavers.
