The Unofficial High Elf Discussion Megathread

to be fair there is no difference visually between “high elves” and blood elves lorewise. gameplay wise is another story but thats mostly so players can differentiate between the elves on either faction

So throw the lore out the window by creating a new kind of elf but calling them “High Elves”?

In lore Thalassian elves are mistaken even with Night Elves, only in game they are made to be absurdly different.

Their model is not Horde-exclusive anymore. Too bad.

Nothing that can’t be fixed with customization options.

No, I wish high elves were made playable in the faction they’ve been a part for 20 real world years.

thats because they adopted a new identity after the scourge invasion. blood elves living among the alliance are still connected to the sunwell

The game shouldn’t throw out the lore for “game mechanics” unless absolutely necessary.

No. They’re called the Quel’dorei and still are.

Not Void Elf Quel’dorei.

Not Blood Elf Quel’dorei.

High Elf Quel’dorei.

At this point your just wasting people’s time with your pointless trolling.:expressionless:

Its called Void Elves. Forced Gameplay over actual good story/lore. Again if you just here to waste people’s time with your pointless trolling the Anti High Elf Thread is waiting for ya.

So the Quel’dorei’s appearance didn’t change after leaving Kalimdor?

I’m not trolling. You’re arguing that we create an entirely different model for High Elves even though there is no lore reason to do so.

A little over one year ago, people would say that Alliance would never get the “blood elf” model.

Two years ago, people said I was crazy for expecting the nightborne to join the Horde.

Five years ago, people were discussing if Blizzard would make a sub-race system.

Seven years ago, people would say there’s no way the same race would be available to both factions.

12 years ago, people would never believe Blizzard would give a classic race from one faction to another.

24 years ago, high elves were already an Alliance race.

cool straw man. 12 years ago alliance were upset horde got blood elves(high elves) and flash forward to today: same narrative different topic :face_with_monocle:

And yet Blizzard gave us Void Elves instead of High Elves. What does that tell you?

That someone should be fired.

They got smaller, and the Thalassian elves are descendants of the Highborne, which have skin and hair tones that are different from the lowborne Night Elves, but Elves on general are visually very similar, they are all called “Elves” or “Dorei” for a reason and non-elves tend to mistake one from another.
Take a look at the Sylvanas Warbringers and have your conclusion, they make the Elves look different in WoW for gameplay propourses, but essencially they all look the same but with different colors.

Someone should be fired for giving us the most successful allied race to date?

The irony of this statement, considering both Nightborne and Kul Tiran’s, is lost upon you I see…

That’s only because you are not considering how successful high elves would be.

And you are making a straw man yourself, if i wanted to play Blood Elves on the Alliance i would be making a thread about making BEs a neutral race like the Pandaren.
12 years after and most Alliance players didn’t care about that old decision.

So some are smaller, a completely different color, but other then that look the same?

They aren’t Blood Elves. Stop trying to infer they are. They are not. And every time you think you’re being clever, you’re actually showing just how ill-equipped you are at the task.

The High Elves who stayed with the Alliance never called themselves Blood Elves. They never drank the fel koolaid, and you’re just making yourself look like the hind end of a donkey every time you try and call them Blood Elves.
