Blood Elves are all either corrupted by Fel or soaked with Light.

High Elves aren’t.

Blood Elves originated from High Elves yes. But not all High Elves became Blood Elves.

Those who kept the name High Elves and stayed with the Alliance are not those who changed their name to Blood Elves and joined the Horde.

The fact that this is apparently so difficult for you to grasp is why I say you’re ill-equipped to be clever.

High Elves don’t have to be a different race. Tushui Pandaren and Houjin Pandaren aren’t different races. Stormwind Humans and Kul Tiran Humans aren’t different races.

As of now, I gotta say Void Elves are pretty terrible as a race, lore-wise.

With every other allied race, we’ve quested with them, interacted with them, fought together (or sometimes against) them. They have their own history, their own important characters, their own racial things…

Meanwhile Void Elves didn’t even exist as a race before we went looking for them, and one might think they don’t even now. They have a grand total of 1 (one) character that actually does anything at all, and he’s not exactly the most interesting elf in the world right now.

None of the Allied Races are unique races actually, the idea that Allied Races have to be actually unique races is flawed.
The point about High Elves is not about them being a unique race, but rather they being different than the Blood Elves and perfectly qualifiable as an Allied Race.
Allied Factions would be a more appropriate for the system than Allied Races.

They are a compromise, you just don’t like the results. Blizzard decided that High Elves didn’t work as an Alliance allied race. Therefore they had to choose between no Thalassian elves on Alliance or Void Elves. They chose Void Elves. Be thankful you have any playable Thalassian elves at all on Alliance, because Blizzard certainly didn’t have to give them to you.

Blood Elves came from High Elves not the other way around.

That’s like saying your playing a Void Elf.

that doesnt mean they arent the same race(blood elf).

Hint. EVERY Allied race was already a playable race. These are just different groups of them.

Not being Blood Elves is what makes them not Blood Elves.

changing the discussion to blood elves for all and ability to choose faction like pandas would garner much more support for your cause.

That’s not what we’re asking at all. High Elves aren’t Blood Elves.

1. HIGH ELVES ARE NOT BLOOD ELVES Or are you saying you are a Void Elf?
2. Blood Elves are Fel Tainted resulting in Green Eyes and Redder Skin. And with the new Sunwell some are Light Infused like Lightforged.
3. Blood Elves are about survival at any cost and the abuse of magic. High Elves are about integrity above survival and not overusing magic. (Some abandoning magic completely)
4. Blood Elves dislike Hunters but adore Blood Knights and Mages. High Elves are mostly Rangers.
5. Blood Elves distrust other races. High Elves are mixing with other races and live in their settlements.
6. Blood Elves are mostly aristocratic City Elves who surround themselves in extravagance. High Elves have more commonplace things and are more outdoorsy.
7. Blood Elves openly accept the use of Fel. High Elves reject it.
8. High Elves despise the Horde. Blood Elves are Horde.

So it’s either a straw man argument or she genuinely has no idea who the Quel’dorei are.

Blizzard decided that High Elves didn’t work as an Alliance allied race.

And this is where they committed a great mistake.
It’s a simple logic: If Void Elves being a race that no one asked for and didn’t had any community support worked just fine, how the High Elves which have people asking for and a large community to support wouldn’t?
It’s easy money for Blizzard to make and many happy players for WoW to have again.

Personally I would have introduced Void Elves a bit differently. They should have been High Elves who travelled to Outland with Alleria. I would have had them transformed with Alleria during the encounter with L’ura. I would have also allowed them to keep their High Elf skin outside of combat, just like Worgen can appear human. Tattoos like Alleria’s would also have been optional. This way Alliance players get the High Elf fantasy while not stepping on the toes of Blood Elf players.

It would have happened. But Blizzard picked Thalassian Blood Elves within the Alliance. You know look how that turned out. So Void Elves already have walked within the toes of the Blood Elf Lore already.

Sorry, but Void Elves are as close as Alliance will get to that.

Well in terms of just being another Blue Skin Elf Race that everybody looks the same with same Blue/Purple colors on skin/hairstyles. So Cleary They’re not really closest thing to High Elves. I much would rather be a Original Color Skin Elf race than another Blue/Purple Color Scheme Race Thanks.

Well maybe Blizzard didn’t know how to do proper care for the Alliance Lore then Ahh. Besides Just because Void Elves are same Thalassian Model Race doesn’t make them special or unique. I mean almost all Void Elf Females ether look what I am or you having the same hairstyle/color skin just like the rest of the Void Elf Players within this Thread. So Clearly. I think Blizzard didn’t really respect their old of Warcraft enough in terms of the Alliance Faction that is.

You have to be really obtuse to not understand the difference when even a Bilgewater Goblin who lived most of his life in a isolated island in the middle of the ocean know that a High Elf is not a Blood Elf.

Dalaran High Elves never did. Stormwind High Elves never did. The ones in Outland who weren’t even around never did.

To say otherwise is making up lore.

Yes they did.

Why do you believe they didn’t? Are you just making stuff up or do you misunderstand something?

They already snubbed Silvermoon by choosing to stay with the Alliance anyway. Do you think they would care?

Even in game they are referred to as High Elves. Even Blizzard calls them High Elves.

In Chronicles it even says that only Survivors of Silvermoon renamed themselves Blood Elves.

You can’t argue they aren’t called High Elves.

And thus HIgh Elves are not Blood Elves.
