Sorry, but Void Elves are as close as Alliance will get to that.
Which is not at all then, seeing as how Void Elves are entirely alien from High Elves.
Void Elves in no way, shape or form fill High Elvesâ roles.
You canât say that for certain. Things can change.
Just because something âcanâ happen doesnât mean itâs likely. Blizzard had their chance to add High Elves to the Alliance. They chose Void Elves instead.
A big mistake, but nothing that canât be fixed.
Likely or not, your statement was a definitive one, as if you had the authority to declare such a thing as final. You donât and it isnât.
Blizzard has as many chances as they want to add High Elves. Trying to paint the situation as to imply there was only one window of opportunity to add them and it was missed is disingenuous.
We will keep asking for what we want until Blizzard gives us High Elves or the game shuts down. Nothing you can say or do will stop us from asking for what we want. So buckle up honey, youâre going to be on this ride for a long time to come⌠or until Blizzard gives us playable Alliance High Elves.
Back in 2017, we spent 3 months discussing void elves before they were made available. We hunted down every single news, all datamined information, all speculation. We discussed how to make the void elves a true compromise. None of our feedback was heard.
There were many ways of making the void elves acceptable. But Blizzard delivered this mockery of a race without any lore that makes sense. It was only then, in february 2018, that the high elf threads exploded.
To me, the void elves are clearly an unfinished story. Blizzard is holding their true purpose for some time in the future. Itâs the first time that a race is made playable with such a âto be fleshed outâ state.
We reject that. If they want to replace something we hold dear, they should have treated the void elves with proper care and a good storyline, not this unfinished introduction.
The game director disagrees, and thatâs all that matters.
Strange, last word from the game director was, âAnything is possible in the future.â
You might be right, but unless Ion pull out a miracle in BfA he isnât going to be in that position for much longer.
Strange, Void Elves are the most popular allied race to date.
Yeah? Youâre a time traveler now?
We already explained why. We can do it again.
Which has absolutely nothing to do with how they failed to stymie calls for playable Alliance High Elves.
Look we get it. Void Elves are popular. No oneâs denying that. Iâm playing one for Voidâs sake! But that doesnât mean they arenât failing at fulfilling a desire by a portion of the player base. Or that Blizzard wonât try to fulfill that desire.
The popularity of Void Elves is IRRELEVANT to playable Alliance High Elves, except insofar as they serve as an indicator of how well received playable Alliance High Elves might be. And I am fairly confident that if we do get playable Alliance High Elves they will be MORE popular than Void Elves.
Iâd be interested to see how theyâd fare if High Elves were an Allied Race. Which would be higher, you think?
And the most successful Allied Races are the ones that attended old player demands.
Because conversations continue in this vein, I want to point something out:
People liking Void Elves and being angry that they got Void Elves instead of Quelâdorei isnât mutually exclusive.
All of the, âVoid Elves have been really well received!â remarks are pointing in that direction.
I literally main a Void Elf, who I like, and am also upset at the way it was handled.
And thereâs many like me, that have a void elf because thatâs what we were given, but would race-change to high elf in an instant if given the opportunity.
I love my character, but I despise the void elves as they are currently.
May I ask why? Just out of curiosity. Not trying to debate your opinion or anything.
I canât speak for Alamara, but while I like Void Elves in general, I personally take issue with the fact that we got Void Elves in place of High Elves, when no one asked for Void Elves.
The animosity (for me) stems from them delaying High Elves when the opportunity was prime to add them since the QuelâDorei had some spotlight time outside of Nighthold.
Had Void Elves been added AFTER High Elves⌠Iâd probably have no such animosity towards them⌠though I do have some issues with their aesthetics. Namely the fact that 4 of their 6 skin colors are basically identical and certain obvious options were omitted (I mean how can the emo edgy elf not have pitch black or bone white as hair or skin color options???). But then all the allied races suffer from far too limited customization options in my opinion.
