I was born under a military totalitarist regimen, BTW. It ended as I was only four years old. 33 years later, people still revere it as it as something good, despite it ruining the country and torturing people.

I have a lot of issues with all racial politics. But there’s no denying that the Horde is way more authoritary than the Alliance. Plus, blood elves are one of the cases in which exiles and censure are confirmed in canon.

It’s a fascinating subject all around, and one that is not given enough attention in lore.

In the scope of this thread, I care because it’s one of the reasons the high elves separated from the blood elves. They were dissenters that were silenced and exiled, and I like that angle, it’s one of the things that make them special to me.

Im just saying: using a quest that is 10 years old in a zone that didnt receive any sort of revamp in Cata like the others…should tell you that the validity of such may not be the best.

Especially since you have double-dipped the quest: between Lor’themar is facist and the Rangers are hated. And when combined together, make actually no form of sense.

Like Ill say that during TBC, Silvermoon was virtually a police state…but we dont know how things have changed since TBC because its under timelock and because its one a different realm than the rest of EK and Kalimdor.

It was a Ctrl+ F find and replace Kael for Lor’themar. It was lazy and barely an update and also back in Cata era.

It was still an update in which they kept it.

The could have gone with a neutral text if they wanted to change it but they decided to stick with the same theme.

I don’t see exiling Blood Elves who were delving into clearly dangerous Void stuff clearly threatening to the Sunwell as any sort of evidence they are totalitarian. They are simply removing threats to their homeland. Especially after losing the Sunwell once already, it’s not surprising.

The Void affecting the Sunwell was theoretical. They where exiled because they where doing the same research as Darkhan but where never told that.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but we don’t see any kind of spill over of a “totalitarian regime” into any of the more current day quests or events, especially MoP to now, involving Blood Elves. Our most recent major move was liberating Suramar and inviting them to Silvermoon, and eventually to the greater Horde.

When have we ever seen the state of things? There is literally no evidence to say it changed yet in Cata they could have made the robots say something different or made the ones shouting in the streets not talk about Lor’themar at all.

We’ve seen the sunwell through Quel’Dealar. We’ve seen that they are still exiling people. We’ve seen that the Void Elves do not trust silvermoon with their Knowledge.

You’re all free to blow hot air about how villianous you think the Blood Elves still are. Doesn’t make it any form of true.

There is literally zero evidence it ever changed. To say “But it might not be like that!” is the real hot air.

Does that mean Anduin was King of Stormwind during WotLK?

They changed the text but kept it as the robots saying propaganda. That’s infinitely similar then making a one time phase.

Why would they not change it to something like “Don’t litter!” if they did not intend to keep the same theme?

They didnt change the text outside of swapping names. Especially when the last time any of these units were touched was 2.2.0

Yea, in 2.4.0; they quest existed in 2.0.3

They could have kept it the same but made a point to change those things. The rest of it is time locked after all.

They could have kept the Draenai opening the same, but made a point to change a few things; but didnt.
