Every single one has been a player suggestion. Some are more daring than others, but at this point most restrictions have lost their meaning due to several reasons, like: precedent in game, high proximity with other races that have that class active (like gnomes living right next to dwarves), 20 years of intermingling, and so on. Gameplay wise it makes even more sense. More choice for player customization is always good. Lore shortcuts to lifting certain restrictions have been taken by Blizzard themselves plenty in the past, with several recent notable examples. In other words, they can make it happen.
