basically female streamer/influencer got caught sleeping with reporters to make her look better and men/boy’s were upset and took it way farther then it needed to go.
I play WoW since Vanilla and I never thought the WoW community was as toxic as a lot of people used to say. Yes, here and there you may find some bad apples but I thought it wasn’t the majority.
After this whole thing blew up, I feel like I was blind. Toxicity is real in this community. I though this whole thing was common sense but I see A LOT of people defending the sex predators and somehow they make this whole thing political. I just can’t believe it.

Actually nothing came out proving she was sleeping around for positive coverage of her game.
The actual event that started gamergate was a complete lie. It was just an excuse to harass women.

Trade chat has way more freedom to say what you want without getting flagged. That’s where the true gamers post.
What? Her texts with one of the journalists came out confirming his timeline that they only started seeing each other after he reviewed her game was a lie. No clue about the judges, but at least one journalist actually got at trouble with his job over concealing his relationship with her.

Yea they slept together, nothing ever connected that to it being about getting positive coverage for a game, that’s just pure conjecture.

He reviewed her game without disclosing a previous relationship, that’s what he did wrong why she slept with him is something only she can know people cant read minds. The article was even amended to mention the conflict of interest.
