I haven’t experienced slavery either, but i still think segregating people based on your personal issues with them is wrong.
Psevers are already illegal using blizzard’s IP and are not run by blizzard not much they do about that.
There’s nothing about segregation mentioned. I just want to temp ignore spammers - a lot of them, all at the same time without having only 50 ignore slots.
Because they’re based in countries that have ‘‘better’’ or ‘‘worse’’ IP laws depending on who you ask.
There’s an ad don for that, called bad boy i suspect it’ll be in classic as well.
Streamer posts how to use a bug ~ BAN
Streamer host unauthorized dueling tournament ~ Meh
Infinite Ignore also works. All that functionality along with right click report doesn’t hurt.
Badboy has a plugin for that.
That it does! Worst case scenario today is that those folks who fear retail trolls have to download a small addon, or, heavens to betsy, right click on a name to temp ignore someone.
Of course, that’s just to deal with spammers. Mostly.
I use it because i can only put up with arguments about trump as a Canadian for so long.
“esports”: Use the Platform for any esports or group competition sponsored, promoted or facilitated by any commercial or non-profit entity without obtaining additional authorization from Blizzard or obtaining Blizzard’s prior written consent. For more information on obtaining appropriate authorization, please visit Blizzard’s website.
Making it easier to report people doesn’t really do much harm on its own; at least not directly to the players. It wastes Blizzard’s time, though, which can indirectly hurt us with longer wait times.
The real harm is when the punishments are automated. People’s tendency to report quickly is more of an indication of our society than of the system, I think.
Or maybe I just know how to use the tools available to me to deal with things when they get that bad.
For example…
/leave 1
/leave 2
or
Download an addon to filter chat. Enter blacklist entry: “BLACKROCKDOWN”
If you’re having to ignore that many people, you’re too quick to ignore, and it’s really no wonder you’re upset about it.
Best not presume. Your realm is not special. You’re not the only one to experience spam.
Imagine thinking you need authorization to organize in-game events. lol
Might want to read that again and figure out why it doesn’t apply in this case, then get back to us.
True, but there is no perfect system, we either have the report and wait feature, the blacklist feature or the automated silence feature. personally i find the silence to be the best of the worst options because at least if your silenced you can still play the game. and not be disruptive to others, most people i see defending it imply that they will never be in a guild or use voice coms of any kind despite you know Discord being a thing lol
In classic it would be a problem because things like discord didn’t exist. there are more than enough methods of dealing with being put in proverbial time out is my point.
lol the retail streamers have “changed their minds” cause they now realize that their streaming cash cow shill machines will be on Classic not retail WoW - they hated Vanilla private servers when they were a potential threat to their incomes but now that LOL BFA has ended up completely poop and no one wants to watch them stream retail, ZOMG CLASSIC IS GREAT LOL…
Yea, you clearly can’t accept that people can change their mind, fine no point in arguing with you.
The blacklisting wasn’t really a feature so much as a community driven thing, which is probably the most fitting for Classic, given community is such a huge part of the game in vanilla.
You’re going to be reporting and waiting either way. The automated punishments can lead to innocents being punished unjustly, though, which means it is an absolute necessity for it to be removed.
The fact it automatically ignores the person you report should be more than enough. No one ELSE should have power over what I get to read/hear from others (as long as it’s within the rules, obviously). I don’t want someone else effectively putting another on my ignore list. It’s MY ignore list.
Why should I have to be the one to leave? They’re the ones who’ve come to be disruptive. And there was not Infinite Ignore or Bad Boy in Vanilla.
You’re quick to tell people to leave if there’s someone else making an issue. Is that how you would have resolved the whole situation with the Tournament? Tell people that they should move the tournament instead of nipping the problem in the bud?
You might let someone else dictate when and where you play, but that doesn’t have to be me, or anyone else. There’s many more tools at your disposal now than there was before.
I’ll presume you never had organized spam on the same level, as routine as it was on mine. We actually became quite well known because of the above protests, among other things.
And this is our circular argument starting up again lol. we’re never going to agree lol
Because as long as they’re not breaking any rules, you’re going to have to deal with it one way or another.
If someone runs into your room and farts in your face, do you stand there and ask them to leave, or do you move away?
This isn’t vanilla.
Yes, because I’m an adult. I don’t go to the forums to cry about it when someone spams trade chat with something I don’t like.
A dueling tournament hosted on a temporary PvP server, and people are surprised someone disrupts it? Yes, I’d tell them to just move, or to kill the guy (which they did).
There’s no reason to ban someone for PvPing on a PvP server. (Or whatever happened. Don’t actually know; don’t really care)
Exactly, and you seem reluctant to use any of them, instead insisting people you personally don’t like be removed completely instead of allowing everyone else to decide for themselves how to deal with them individually.
Best not to presume. Your realm is not special. You’re not the only one to experience spam.
as I said earlier in this thread MrIGetOffendedEasilySoIReportPeopleForSayingBadThingsAboutMe…
don’t take my word for it, but you should listen to what Kevin Jordan has to say about it and his view is that adding RL cash money incentives into the game or ANY game for that matter can and has led bad things even with the best of intentions
You think Streamer priviledge doesn’t exist - why does Swifty still have his original account?
That was from 2011 but some guy sitting on a totem during a cash prize streamer dueling tournament in a world zone gets either banned or punted to another zone?
