The terrible maths of the M+ loot nerfs

Nice, was curious when that would change.

40% seemed way out of line.

18% is still a decent chunk though, makes those 5% and 10% hp nerfs look tiny.

A lot of us have too many adult responsibilities to raid mythic. We arent 18-20 year old kids living with our parents anymore. Yeah Iā€™ll tell my wife I want to raid 9-12 hours a week prog raiding on top of a job and my other responsibilities. Sure that will go over well.

I get it, Mythic raiding is a dying breed but sacrificing M+ to try to prop it up just seems like it will backfire hard.

Canā€™t be a ā€œwhooshā€ when someone makes an incorrect statement.

They donā€™t.

Most people that raid mythic have families and responsibilities as well.

Stop using that as an excuse because you arenā€™t good enough.

Neither are we.

Considering there are two day guilds that earn ce on a 6 hour schedule.

Sounds like you arenā€™t the leader tbh.

The changes negatively affect mythic raiders more than mplus players. Tell me you donā€™t have a clue what the change is without telling us you donā€™t have a clue.

Why not allow each additional level of difficulty of mythic plus over the cap drop additional crests?

Have a 12 drop 60 for example to reduce the grind and reward pushing difficulty

I mean they also said they were going to preserve old ubrs and look what happened.

I was good enough. I had multiple CEs. Then I wanted more from life and stopped mythic raiding. One reason I quit for half a decade. But M+ allowed me to have the flexibility to play in shorter spurts. So who is this nerf serving?

did you even read what you just wroteā€¦because it makes zero sense.

Sure.

Probably nothing recent.

lol more like you couldnā€™t adapt.

Nothing is changing but mythic gear is getting two additional upgrade tracks.

Which includes vault rewards from mythic vault.

Itā€™s not just mythic raid gear.

Very little of what heā€™s said makes sense.

Most people who arenā€™t good at the game donā€™t understand what heā€™s saying.

(vague angry retort to strange judgy statement)

I mean I understood what he said.

As someone who did all of the math before about how long it would take to fully Max your gear, I think your math is off. The change to the vault for Mythic Plus is only a ā€˜lossā€™ of 15 crests per week assuming you pushed to the 2/4 Myth instead of 1/4 on the easier key.

So if your only source of gear was M+ Vault for Myth track, and we donā€™t count crafted gear, that is 15 (2h)/16(mh+oh) weeks minimum for every slot and a loss of 225-240 crests by not getting the 2/4 which is less than 3 weeks worth using the old 90/week cap. Obtaining a higher ilvl drop from Mythic raid saves crests for that slot.

Assuming using no crafted gear: Difference of doing 1/4 Mythic to 4/4 is at max 720 crests, 8 weeks.
2/4 Myth to 4/4 is 480 crests, 6 weeks with some left over.
1/4 Myth to 6/6 is 1200 crests, if cap remains 90/w that is 14 weeks with some left over.

If you only geared from M+, your Myth track gear acquisition was not held back by crests, but by the vault itself. So, despite it taking longer to be max item level by crests, since it takes 15-16 weeks of vault drops to get Myth track drops, the time to hit max remains the same since crafted gear will still be weaker save for the embellished pieces making up for lower ilvl which only shaves off 2~ weeks of vault farming.

I too am terrible at math. I decided I would also run the numbers and my results were frightening. My numbers matched Blizzā€™s numbers almost identically. So, yea, There is a very serious problem. That much I can confirm, but what? I canā€™t say. Like I said, Iā€™m bad at math.

Letā€™s talk about the larger difference between the Hero track and the Myth track.

The solution is simple. Donā€™t raid mythic at all, ever, and let it burn.

The problem will solve itself, because it wont provide the returns needed to keep developing it.

How does that even work?

Or simply put the highest ilvl gear in the mode that has infinite levels and a timer instead of a mode that has no drawbacks or restrictions.

Mythic raiding has massive development costs. If itā€™s not driving retention and engagement, it gets reduced investment or cuts.

Thatā€™s how corporations work.

If you want them to take your views seriously, Take it to their wallet. that is the only way they will ever listen.
