The terrible maths of the M+ loot nerfs

You’re so full of it.

Maybe that philosophy worked in classic. But not in retail.

Alts are fun. And they can provide a fresh new perspective on existing content if you get a bit bored on your main.

You can still go play alts.
Your only CE is N’zoth.
Maximizing your main isn’t that high of a priority.

I’m an M+ main and have been for years because I have a job that doesn’t allow for raiding due to my schedule not leaving room for that sort of regular time commitment. So I do AOTC and then push M+ in pugs.

We can’t all be NEETs

So tell me, why is it not an issue that you forgo power from raid (that is usable in m+) but is an issue that you forgo power from m+?

You’re still giving up power.

It hasn’t been an issue in DF since season two because the gap between a heroic vs a mythic trinket has been fairly small (6 ilvl), its going to be much larger in TWW, and we both know we are going to get another Rashok trinket situation.

And my chief concern is not the raid loot, but the doubling, christ almost tripling, of the grind to upgrade the gear I will get.

more rewarding m+ runs unless if you enjoy playing for no power.

Could ask Blizzard to remove gear upgrades entirely. Why not have an entire expac where there are no gear drops at all.

doing my 90th +10 key for crests is a lot less rewarding than doing the 15 I wanted to do but had to wait on getting enough gearing to have enough stam to survive some mechanics.

A healthy grind should have you saying “yay I did it” when it’s over, not “thank god thats done”

Just play m+ as one normally would. Gear comes as a bonus.

It’s not something that you HAVE to do.

And in DF, like after 3 weeks, people are more or less bored. Don’t need aspects, gear drops dwindle to nearly nothing.

I play to see how high I can push. That is already limited by the fact that my job is on oil rigs so I can’t play for 4 weeks when I am at work. This is the roster that prevents me from joining a mythic raiding team. It wouldn’t be fair to ask them to hold a spot for me for 4 weeks while I am at work for the 4 weeks I am at home.

I already have to play catch up enough as it is. This just adds to it.

And the more time I spend playing catch up the less time I get to spending actually pushing to see how far I can get that season with pugging.

Have you considered not playing an MMO if you’re upset by the fact that people playing for 4 weeks nets some advantage over you?

If you did mostly M+ for mythic gear the old crest grind in DF S2 to S4.

15 items that started at 2/4 mythic. 15 x 30 crest = 450 crest

The new system is 15 items that start at 1/6 mythic 15 x 75 = 1125 crest

So the grind has increased by 2.5 times. Guess the problem is the people who want to play their alts and max them out. They went from needing 450 crest to get their alt to max power to now 1125 crests and so some are upset they have to put much more effort into 1 character and prob not want to do the same for their alt.

Those aren’t alts. They are just mains.

No, it’s less rewarding by every definition of the word. In TWW they’ve tripled the amount of crests required for the same upgrades compared to DF.

Why are you trolling so hard here?

You mean it’s more rewarding. You play, and still gain Ilvls.

Else, you’d have to argue that most rewarding system is one that doesn’t give any new gear after a new tier.

No, I mean it’s less rewarding. Don’t tell me what I mean.

What if hypothetically, after each tier, there is no ilvl increase?

Is that more rewarding or less?

“Actual casuals” don’t do mythic raids.

What if hypothetically, after each tier, you get banned for trolling?

The answer is don’t think about hypotheticals, think about what’s actually happening.

Because apparently gaining ilvls = less rewarding.

So I propose, we set it to 0. Therefore, most rewarding content ever.
