“YEAH! Now we can do PvE all we want on this server we specifically rolled on to do PvP! We can farm mats and fight PvE mobs and never fight any other players!”
“Btw u should reroll to PvE scrub if you wanna play PvE.”
Big brain right here.

Getting tons of pvp and complaining about getting too much pvp . Can’t please some people.
Just admit it . You can’t handle being on the losing team .
That is true, but some servers had a decent balance, until the alliance started transfering to get away from pvp on pvp servers.
Puffywiggle gave you some advice I suggest you take it.
Blizzard cancelled the WotLK intro event early because people would rather threaten to quit WoW than be bothered to use the Night Elf city for their AH needs during that time.
Are Horde camping and controlling leveling areas on PVP servers, such as Duskwood and Wetlands, where Alliance would normally level, reasonably undisturbed to ~30? Is that what is happening?
Yea, wetlands/auberdine/theramore is a hot mess on whitemane. You basically havent been able to access the menethil boats since thursday, its darnassus port and flying or just dont bother.
Sorry, not as familiar with Alliance territory (contested or not), are you saying that Duskwood is camped and controlled on Whitemane by Horde, such that Alliance are unable to level from 20 to 30?
EDIT:
I’m just trying to understand precisely what the issues are. I do hear a lot of, “This is hard. It’s uneven. No you don’t understand. It’s really hard.” type stuff, with some arguments about faction racials mixed in, but that doesn’t really give a strong sense of what the actual problem(s) is/are.
Duskwood is mostly fine - its beyond that – wetlands/darkshore/ashenvale/theramore are not.
OK, thanks. So it is possible to level to 30, relatively alright, for Alliance, on a PVP server.
What are the actual issues? When/where would you say, particularly for Alliance, would be a place/situation that is just a completely unfair and unreasonable situation to have to be in as Alliance on a PVP server?
To clarify a little – you’ll generally want to do darkshore/auberdine 20-24 which requires taking the boat from menethil harbor.
Redridge mountains are highly contested as well which you’ll hit first around level 18-20 after leaving the safety of westfall and return to in the late 20s to clean up some remaining higher level quests. You dont get to Duskwood until 27-30 level range, and the quests there will only get you to the late 20s early 30s, at which point you’re heading back to wetlands/ashenvale and meeting the horde campers again.
I had just assumed that Horde would not be camping and controlling Redridge. Are you saying that is not the case? Redridge is unlevel-able as Alliance? (I didn’t even realize that it was a contested zone; I had to look that up!)
Yup, redridge is HEAVILY contested and is indeed an inexplicably contested zone despite horde having zero quests there. The flight master has been camped there on whitemane all weekend and packs of horde regularly camp the bridge area.
Its proximity to burning steppes doesnt help, obviously.
The saltiest tears will be the horde players complaining when phase 4 hits and they have all their AQ war effort done, and the alliance is at 3%.
Kill your fellow player when you see him running by, don’t camp them if you want your server to survive.
And that Flight Master is pretty close to where all the quests are, and would definitely be causing some issues for leveling, if you were trying to level there, and it was being camped by packs of horde regularly. I could see that.
So, basically, for Alliance, you could run instances (Deadmines/Stockades), but that’s probably about it?
This is why the F R E S H mentality was born on pservers. The idea that if EVERYONE had to start over it was OK. Then, of course, more people wouldn’t be 60 fast enough. Even better, they realize that being 60 doesn’t fix their woes.
Wait until phase 3 launches and wPvP is still slowing the leveling, just as it is now. Salt will form.
Well, I sure wouldn’t. That’s exactly what I signed up for, and I’d like to find it, and level during it. Where would you suggest I go? People are saying, Horde is easy mode. OK… so, Alliance on Faerlina? Is that the suggestion?
Also, other than complaining on the forums, is anyone actually doing anything to work towards making things better for yourselves? What is being done?
The best option right now outside of instance grinding is to corpse crawl to the questgivers in redridge and hopefully be able to get out of the main drag around the flightpath and bridge in lakeshire to complete some quests.
Then pay a mage for a portal to darnassus and take the boat from there to auberdine. Darkshore is a large zone so questing, if you can get there is usually doable. Its getting there that is the issue, as horde controls the boats in menethil. If you’re on an alt, affording a port or having a mage friend who can do it is doable, if you’re on your main its much more difficult.
I don’t think bgs will help. There are so many alliance rerolling or quitting that the bg ques will be super long for the horde. What will those horde do in 1 hour ques? They will be world pvping exactly like they are right now.
Sounds challenging.
