Pelagos said specifically that they were no longer going to cast souls into the Maw and that the Maw, a hellscape for all eternity, was not an appropriate punishment in their afterlife.
Sylvanas has been given the almost impossible task of finding all the lost souls in the Maw and returning them to be judged and properly passed to one of the four domains. This is her near eternal punishment.
Well, Pelagos isn’t going to send anyone to the Maw. he believes everyone can be redeemed.

Still, she’s going to be down there collecting every soul that ever was up until that point. She’s gone. Forever.

So, ummm…kill her off so she can go to Revendreath and work on atonement? That sounds nicer than leaving her in the Maw.
Actually, they might send her to Maldraxus since she was sort of being controlled and that seems like a good place for her.

By banishing her to the maw for a while, you can be damn sure she’ll be back some day as some kind of savior after facing the maw
she has voiced her regrets because she was controlled (just like anduin recently). its not good or fresh story telling but she was literally sent to WoW hell for basically eternity. move on. its not like tyrande is doing much for her people except being a whiny emo (more bad writing)

So many evil bad terrible characters have remained evil until weve removed their head from their shoulders.
Redeeming evil characters makes for an interesting story, but ill admit Sylvannas has been handled very very poorly

Lets be real though. Blizzard staff constantly poops on Horde leadership and always have. Garrosh; Vol’jinn, Cairne, Saurfang now Sylvanus? Making Thrall a dirty hippie who cant be botherd to do anything when Azeroth is slowly dying.
I feel like the main reason they dont kill her off is cus if they the only leader left is gonna be Baine and hes a super pacifist cow.
She should’ve made another road of glory.
I gave up on the Shadowlands story making any sense a while ago. I suggest you do the same for your own sanity.
