The STARK difference between ion hazzikostas and yoshi p

iunno i think they were saying more like “i wish people would stop coming here saying how much a streamer hates the game so therefore my hate relationship for the game is justified!” posts are rather uh…pointless? like we get it you hate the game. do you want a cookie or something?

Yoshi can eat a whole egg in one bite just using his tongue. Can Ion do that? NO HE CANNOT!

Also, when I need to jump across a deep chasm Yoshi totally doesn’t care if I just drop him mid jump for the momentum. Meanwhile if I even try to climb on Ion’s back suddenly I’m being inappropriate!

Never said I hated the game I said I wish we could get a lead game developer like yoshi p who every time he actually speaks which is rare that it doesn’t feel like it was wrote on a notepad 10 minutes before walking out on stage

Subs are the only proper metric. Earnings are not. Microtransactions purchased /=/ players playing the game. Subscriptions do. Assuming 1 account is 1 individual player in most cases, how is that not a proper metric?

Yoshi P is more focus on the non-hardcore crowd. While Ion only focuses on the 0.000002% of mythic raid loggers.

Cause 1 whale is worth a ton of subs, that’s how f2p games manage to be the most profitable games in the world

Both are puppets, one just enjoys a very complacent playerbase :man_shrugging:

As much i dislike Ion’s past actions and what he done with WoW, these “Ion’s bad and Yoshi P is jesus” threads are getting tiring. (Especially since i think it’s silly that people think Yoshi P isn’t a business man and actually think he’s your friend…)

"Because the game is good! :upside_down_face: "

Or as i like to call what it really is: Fanboy Hypocrisy.

MTX in a premium priced game is bad regardless if the game is good. Infact, the game quality would objectively improve if they were taken out for good.

Yes, but you are missing the point of the argument. I know a whale is worth more than multiple subs, Im not arguing against that. I am talking about sheer amount of people that still play WoW. Whale money is not popularity, which is ultimately what my conversation with the other guy was about.

While i disagree with Nyaria for saying it’s a terrible game (and it’s not a terrible game by any means, and i do understand that WoW isn’t doing great at all and should seriously consider an overhaul on how the company does things, as well a shake up for the game), it would be actually biased of her to say “WoW’s MTX is bad because the game is bad, and FF14’s MTX is good because the game is good”. But she didn’t say that because she recognizes it’s a nonsensical argument to make to begin with. It has no consistency and therefore, no basis in logic, which can be essentially conjured at well whenever convenient.

And i agree with her on calling them hypocrites. I dislike MTX is in any premium priced game, regardless the game quality or if i love it. One of my favorite game series, Far Cry, is sadly riddled with MTX, because Ubisoft is Ubisoft, and i’m not going to turn a blind eye to that just because i love the games. That would be …hypocritical and biased, wouldn’t it? :face_with_monocle:

  1. The ff14 community thinks their game is great so they have no issue with it.

  2. It’s not accessable in-game you have to go to a website to buy items.

Still counts. Just because FF14 is taking the same approach The Sims 2 and 3 did, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have them. :man_shrugging:

Yoshi can speak honestly with the playerbase. Ion tends to ramble and go off-message when speaking off the cuff. The problem is that there’s a “message”. Blizzard doesn’t understand the nature of communication. They don’t respect the playerbase and thus see no reason to communicate anything to them. Their plans for the future of the game have not taken into account what they playerbase wants to pay for, and they have no intention of changing their long-term plan based on player feedback.

Here’s the reality; you can go through a hundred game dev leads and you’ll never get someone like Yoshi P if that’s the standard you’re trying to hold.

WoW lead devs come and go. These are positions that are appointed. FF14 is Yoshi P’s baby. There is nobody possible that could come after Ion that would ever have that level of dedication to a product like WoW. The history and passion just aren’t there.

Do a bit of digging and you’ll find more than a little evidence of player discontent directed towards Street and Chilton. The cycle won’t end with Ion, and I see little evidence to the contrary.

I’ll give you a hint.

Well not all the streamers are like that ones like asmon get more viewers playing ff then wow anyway and technically asmon could stop streaming today and be set for life he still only covers wow cause he really likes the game

I don’t blame Blizz 1 bit for not wanting to talk to wow players  It would just be constant arguments and trash comments. Find any blue post on the forums recently and see how long it is before someone says something dumb to Blizz.

I’m glad someone isn’t just fan boy/girl ignoring what I’m actually saying and just assuming I’m defending wow.

I’ve stated multiple times in this thread alone I’m upset with WoW as it currently is, and that’s why I am mainly playing TBC classic.

However I am annoyed by the people that say WoW’s MTX store is bad (Despite the fact you can infact buy everything with gold without spending a cent) but FF14’s MTX store (Which you cannot buy everything with Gil mind you) is not that big of a deal.

Just because I don’t like FF14, and I find the game (In my opinion) to be awful and the biggest waste of money in my most recent memory, doesn’t mean I’m defending WoW. I just hate blatant hypocrisy.

I don’t like retail wow either. and I play TBC wow, that doesn’t have a MTX store. :woman_shrugging:

The buck stops with Yoshi P, and he knows it.

Blizzard does not know that their buck stops with them, and they routinely blame their players for their own internal faults.

They stopped sales because the global semiconductor shortage is making it expensive to upgrade their stuff to accommodate all the new people who would really rather be playing WoW and just aren’t because of the lack of new content.
