The /spit dilemma regarding store mounts

Wipe all that slobber off of your face!

Eh yes and no. The forums are for players to interact, ask/give advice, discuss. Now a days if you want to get a hold of them, you’re far better off using Twitter.

I don’t understand why people get so angry over people paying money for cosmetics in these types of games. As far as microtransactions go, WoW is not even the worst offender. WoW and GW2’s microtransactions are primarily cosmetic things, and are not “pay to win”. If you don’t buy anything off their shop, you’re not falling behind in the game. Microtransactions only become a problem when they are needed to make a game more enjoyable or, well, playable.

And I agree with the OP’s larger message, that we should not allow the WoW community to devolve into petty meanness. Many people have made friends or met loved ones, or found confidence in life thanks to this game, or is a “home away from home” after a long day. People in general need to stop using the anonymity of the internet to be a jerk.

Well its basically people with no lives.

The responses ive gotten here range from “ignore them”, “grow up”, “just an emote” to “i dont care”.

It’s pathetic, with spitters having no real justification for their action. Which there is none to begin with.

Zoomers will be zoomers, and the rest of the community will encourage toxicity so long as it doesn’t mean they have to talk to people in an MMO.

I’m not going to apologize for buying my Grinning Reaver when it was half off and using a WoW token. You can /spit all you want but my Laughing Skull toon is too happy to care.

I’ll just ride my Grinning Reaver over their corpses. No problem, no dilemma.

Especially considering store mounts are cheaper to buy with gold than TCG mounts.

I don’t care one bit if some immature child spits at my pixel riding a awesome store mount because their mommy said they can’t have one just ignore them all the children want is attention because mommy isn’t giving them any.

HOW IS IT BAD FOR THE GAME? Sorry using caps so someone can actually give me an answer instead of just parroting whatshisface.

FFXIV = huge store site. Mounts, outfits, emotes, dances, items that can be sold in-game, game services: 0 community complaints.

GW2 = moderate in-game store. Mount skins, outfit items, finishers, cosmetics, items to make the game easier, new stuff every month or so: 0 community complaints.

ESO = HUGE store site. Tons of mounts, hairstyles, dances, DLCs, game unlocks, items, housing: 0 community complaints.

WoW = tiny in-game store. A few mounts, a few battle pets, game services: IT RUINZ DE GAEM BLIZZ U SUK /SPIT /SPIT /SPIT

Why did you specifically name one of the streamers and not the other?

I’m curious as to your reasoning there.

i’m honestly surprised the /spit emote is still in game… they changed /whistle because, i imagine, people were getting offended at it.

=/

They can’t give you an answer because they don’t know why it is bad for the game.

“Ah see a person wid a store mount! Come wid me, so we can spit on dem ma bra-das, I will show you dae way.”

tongue-clicking sounds

Oh i thought this was the /spit on azshara before court delima where the raid waists 20 minutes seeing which emotes result in insta death.

Y’know, I’m sure people say that about internet bullies. “It’s only words on the page, it doesn’t actually hurt anyone”.

Sadly, that isn’t true and we have all seen very sad stories about young people committing suicide from internet bullying. Depression is a clinical condition and its often not a matter of “growing thicker skin” thought medication is taken in an attempt to cope with the illness. Words and actions can hurt as much or more than a knife or a gun. Should sensitive people be denied the pleasure of human contact (either in real life or on the internet) because of potential cruelty?

People don’t need to grow thicker skin. Some people need to grow a sense of personal decency.

Even if its just an emote, some take it further and actually harass users in IM’s and such.
It’s pretty sad.

So many of you claim to hate streamers yet posts like this that get 450 replies give them a lot of free exposure.

Literally the same thing as that stupid #BringBackTheNationalDex from the annoying pokemon kids.

Won’t change anything, but makes for a very easy thing to blacklist.

In a video game? It’s not a “vicious” attack.

It may be a viscous attack, though. Especially if they’re fighting a sinus infection at the time.
