they have to be killed at the EXACT SAME TIME - which means that if one side has its mini boss at 50% while the other side is at 20%, the 20% players have to wait for the other side to catch up and so they stop dpsing completely…

I literally don’t want to do max dps as I would simply pull too much agro on the mini boss during the tank swap and get 1shot

you’re literally making a completely illogical statement here especially by doubling down on it - so I will repeat…

NO ONE CARES ABOUT HOW MUCH DPS IS DISHED OUT AGAINST THE MINI BOSSES BECAUSE THE AGRO IS SUPER SENSITIVE DUE TO THE TANKS GETTING PUNTED THROUGH THE AIR TO EACH PLATFORM AND YOU DON’T WANT TO PULL AGRO AND DIE BEFORE THE ACTUAL BOSS BECOMES ACTIVE

yes it would likewise be BiS forever for dual-wield Fury as in better than KT weapons…

That’s why it sounds like a stealth nerf to me. Someone may have done some math and decided to nerf it without saying so.

I’m a horde player and between the fact that we’re running 1.12 (and not 1.12.1, where the bloodrage cancel charge was fixed that swifty showed) and Ironfoe having that massive proc rate? I might roll warrior!

Tank too baby! But, I think that it’ll be much less because of the tester on Allakhazam back in 2006 (1.11 client) stated that out of 3,226 Ironfoe hits, it proc’d 87 extra attacks.

This would make the proc rate 2.70%, or 0.675 procs per minute. The dream might be dead.

You know I remember a while back thinking about a spelldmg version of shaman, read about it on some pserver forums but it never quite got fleshed out. Even if it did I don’t think it would be as good as the spelladin mcp version though.

Except that it wasn’t the mage side holding back. The melee side was holding back, and Mourt was no where near pulling aggro. I read the logs, and the logs show these things. You can’t just make things up around me.

I realize it doesn’t matter for this guild since they have it on farm, but it is still a valid point, and your excuses make no sense.

If you’re doing too much dps and still a paladin…I mean you could just stand there, that’s fine. You’ve handed out the blessings. Just heal someone for a few. If spelladin is really dealing out that much (I’m really waiting to see on this) you can just chill and adjust accordingly.

If you’re handing out that kind of threat with your dps I figure stuff is dying fast anyway so who cares.

you’re being obtuse - no one gives an ounce of care what kind of DPS goes out on the mini bosses and if you try to bring this argument over once classic launches you will be derided worse than I have ever been

on the mini bosses I use rank 1 Exorcism, put up JoW for the casters, use Seal of Righteousness with Nightfall - hell I barely even Judge Righteousness on the mini bosses

CUZ IT DOESN’T MATTER NUB - no one cares - the mini bosses are merely a gate check to see if the guild can properly coordinate killing both at the same time which leads to the jump to the boss platform to make sure that you are awake enough not to fall down to the slime

TLDR - I DON’T EVEN TRY TO DPS ON THE MINI BOSS - all I do is put up JoW and swing Nightfall - THAT’S IT

PS which is why I reset my DPS meters as well after the mini bosses die again…BECAUSE THEY DON’T MATTER!

So you let the guild carry you? Why? I’m not saying Stal and Feug are hard, but to simply no try because “reasons” is just silly…This would be like a warrior or rogue just auto attacking, or mages just wanding. If everyone had that mentality then the mini bosses would be a problem. This argument literally makes no sense and just speaks volumes to your willingness to be carried.

but to answer your question - it’s not worth using resources on them since they don’t matter - Thaddius is where you go for the big deeps man - get real already…

why would I waste mana/resources on an insignificant mini boss (max rank Consecration/Exorcism/Holy Wrath/Stratholme Holy Water) only to pull agro, get 1shot and die?

the mini bosses don’t even give the +190% dmg boost that Thaddius does - hence why you save all your cds and class abilities for the boss where it really matters

But nobody else in the raid seems to share that mentality. I mean the melee side had to hold back quite a bit waiting on the caster side, but all the casters seemed to be trying and not holding back for Thaddius because that is what matters.

I will say that this more or less supports my point. You are not holding back because it doesn’t matter, you are holding back because you aren’t capable of maintaining dps over long periods of time. You have to hold back in order to be useful on the boss. If you were to try like the rest of the dps, you would not be able to push as hard.

On farm content this doesn’t matter. During progression though, you are causing the raid top spend more time on the fight. That is less mana the healers have when they get to Thaddius. That is potentially more consumables the other 39 people have to use all while waiting on you because you are unable to push like a proper dps.

And again, I can read the logs. I assure you this was not a threat, lol.

This is such a dumb thing to argue over. This argument of yours is based on such a low level of speculation.

you know what leads to a wipe during progression here on the mini bosses?

DOING STUPID THINGS LIKE PULLING AGRO AND DYING - which means less DPS for when it matters…on the actual boss

Warlocks can get mana easy. Mages have evocation, mana while casting plus spell armor to increase mana regen. Spriests have mana regen while casting. They can get their mana back during transition too.
Hunters and paladins Will benefit the raid more by saving their mana until Thadius unless they just have tons of gold to blow on mana pots.
