As the title says, the area chats are full of the most atrocious stuff. Combine that with the abysmal names some people have come up using last names and the game is tremendously off putting to me.
The graphics are great.
I have spent plenty of time with "Barrens chat " previously. There has always been a lewd element to it, of course.
But it seems like the andrew tate fanbois have decided that this is their new playground. And worse.
To think that so many people probably paid $30 to just expose their inner rancid genuine personality is beyond “sadge”
UPDATE: this thread has devolved nearly into the very thing i’m talking about with the exception that there are consequences of going too far in the forums. zone chat has no such consequnces at the moment. the toxicity and insulting behavior here is a small fraction of what one reads in zone chat. I am saddened, but not at all surprised, how some people will behave when they think no one knows who they are.
One of the main reasons it’s going to fail quickly unless Blizzard stops it which includes getting rid of the bad apples that are only there to start ish.
I’d take the general lack of chatter in retail zones over the gas station bathroom graffiti that is Forever’s community. I have been called more slurs than I can remember
Im curious if anyone at Blizz predicted that would happen tbh. Crazy that, the majority of Classic players are toxic, ive played from Vanilla but never liked the concept of Classic and still dont. I even tried Classic but was quickly reminded why i like retail.
As far as the bans go, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Same ppl that claim to be rpg purists cant even come up with a name that reflects the claim? im not sure why anyone wouldnt think what will get you in trouble in retail WONT get you in trouble in another version of the game, goof balls They got what they wanted finally and STILL messed it up
Theyre their own worst enemy Im glad they all decided to be on 1 server together to and keep their amongst themselves, since they all claimed they arent coming back to retail I hope they keep that promise %
Precisely why I was getting so frustrated. Forever has the bones to be great. But those bones have cracks, just like any game, and we need to fill em. But we can’t, if the Dev’s are too busy in an Toxic Arms Race.
I am not seeing that much toxicity in general chat in beta, and the chatter is going on in all zones. Mostly players are helpful to each other and LFG for Hogger.
People are excited to be in beta. Just like they would be excited to plunk down cash to see a concert or eat a good meal at a trendy restaurant. They are also learning about their classes and the profs.
This has turned into the most stick-in-the-mud forum my God.
In my experience forever has been nothing but helpful. People ask questions - get help and get answers. People group both in chat or just out in world to help each other out. Heck people even buff people for no other reason then they can as they go past them. I have even had people trade money and potions with me for no reason. It’s a very helpful and kind space. Yes there are moments where the chat can be extreme but generally the community responds to it and calls it out. It has been a far better experience than retail has ever been for me
I love Skyborne Druid and Mage, and there is something exciting to me about a game where the journey is the focus.
I’ve made my wishes that the new features be subsumed into the modern game clear.
Nevertheless, I must comment on the amount of toxicity, tomfoolery and even terry talk I’ve encountered on the Forever Beta. The immature names are abundant to the point of dominance and immersion-breaking. I’ve also been following the mega-guilds situations closely. I’m concerned for the “social” slate of Forever given “Realmless”. It is not merely a case of trend. There’s a thin line between trend, peer pressure, and coercion. I think it’s best to avoid the big guilds and form friend groups organically.
