Do you see me saying your opinion doesn’t matter because you’re a casual? No you don’t. I play all types of content. Your opinion doesn’t matter because you’re complaining about literally minutes worth of time assuming you just AFK the flight. It’s not important and that you all invest this kind of emotion into it is absurd to me. Like the game is boring and broken in it’s current state, but let’s latch on to portals! That matters. Okay.

How about the stalwart middle-ground speakers? Flight. Speed. Increase. If we’re going to lose portals no matter what we say, why can’t we fly faster at a higher cost? Increase flight speed to 590% behind a goldsink of 20k. This way, we don’t have to suffer 4 minutes of afk just to get to a place. The time is long past due: speed us up or increase FP speed. Either way, make it so that players ARE viewing the world AND getting to the places they need at record times. 3 minutes is 3 minutes etc etc x 40 alts. Cut it down by half and you have at least SOME version of mixed feelings to the better side of not horrible.
TL;DR - Flight Speed (skill) or Flight Points (npc) increase speed by x2.

Yeah this honestly made my dragon soul mount farms that much more tedious losing the caverns of time ports. That’s gonna make me do it less with the added travel time on the toons I can’t just leave there. Karazhan is gonna be awful too because I’m guessing blasted lands will be gone? I’ve heard different things on this one; I have the original midnight mount but not the new one yet ><
This game as of late feels like one step forward two steps back; we’ve had the travel convenience for years and it’s being removed and addressed now? Can mages get more ports then?

Yes, people love having conveniences taken away from them for contrived, spiteful reasons. It’s a well-known human psychological trait. I’m sure the vast majority of players would just adore having all portals and flying permanently removed, it would make the game so much more fun.

Portals make things easier. Within 1 expansion, I agree. Too many portals makes it too easy. Im also one that doesnt care about flying, but wouldnt turn in down. But with all the different areas we need to get to; Pandaria, Northrend, lost isles, kalimdor, EK, and the BFA zones; no one wants 20 minutes of their day spent sitting on flight paths or waiting on boats. And thats coming from a former EQ player who had to wait 30 minutes for boats to go to other areas.

Oh boy time to do a wonderfully annoying questline 20 times just for farm runs and I still have to fly a good distance to get them there initially! Point being long flight times pretty much makes mount runs an even bigger slog than they were previously.
Not to mention the ring quest line means I have to spend even longer in those first few mount runs
People they believe support their stance… The problem is that they are voices only they can hear.

My Kara runs stop at midnight so I mean…
I have the ring on ONE toon. That’s it.

Actually the silent majority aren’t even aware the portals are being removed. At least when I talked to my guildies about it they didn’t even know. But their reaction were mixed between
“Wow that sucks” ~ Those who farm Dragon Soul and
“I don’t care” ~ Those who don’t. Once I told them why it sucked for me they were sympathetic and agreed they shouldn’t be removed as there’s no reason to.
