The sheer amount of job openings at Blizzard is concerning

Given the job they did with pretty much every new “system” in BFA, that could be up for debate

I’ve never heard that expression before. I love it!

Or maybe plenty of people are just tired of the “looking for any excuse to attack Blizzard” types of threads. When one points out how businesses work, you get labeled as a boot licker, a plant, a blizzard defender, etc.

Having to explain to people the basics of Business 101 while being constantly insulted for doing so…means that people just stop caring to go out on a limb for every single “Blizzard is bad because I don’t understand how the world works” thread.

That typically isn’t on the QA team, but on the devs. QA teams don’t fix issues. QA teams often can have their issues ignored.

Source : I worked on and managed video game QA teams for a major publisher/developer.

Sure, QA teams can mess up, they aren’t perfect. But they typically test exactly what the devs want them to test.

This is true. There’s also the fact that not everyone is a career junkie. A lot of people will rise to these positions and only hold them for a few years to cash in and finish paying their mortgage and maybe a nice car (seen some pictures, Blizzard’s parking lot could be mistaken for a Tesla dealership) or a boat or whatever then either step down or outright resign to go pursue less lucrative passion projects cause not everyone sees the point of stockpiling endless amounts of money once everything’s paid off.

Holding high stress/pressure and time consuming positions for a long time isn’t for most people, even if they’re qualified for it.

Ideally, you want to promote from within. Basically have your hiring be at lower levels, but many businesses treat everyone as contractors and the idea of moving up from within is a dying concept. You get promoted by finding another job now.

If a large company wasn’t hiring across vertually all roles I would be worried.
