The sense of worth in wow is like "nobody cares", achievement or cosmetic stuff

This is exactly how I find some mounts.

For me the order hall mount that shamans got, looked waaay better than 3 reskinned mounts than m+ players got every season.

If you put soo much effort and wasted so much of time to only look ugly , I am going to clap with sarcasm

Not a single pixel or achievement in this game will ever measure up to the feeling of seeing a few of my guildmates at my wedding (a 150-person affair, mind you). My wife couldn’t care less about my gaming hobby…but she knew and liked those people well enough to not even question their presence at the most important day of our lives.

Evergreen.

I mean there aren’t really rare mounts aside from pvp ones, and everything is acc wide.

Nah, glad drakes eternally sick.

Hell people who use ‘full sets’ tend to get looked down on by transmog gatekeepers. Regardless of where the full set comes from. It could come from the current raid on mythic and the gatekeepers will still look down on you.

Was just the example used. I feel similarly about the mythic mounts that remain obtainable. Reins of Anu’relos, Flame’s Guidance is the last one that had me staring.

I’ve seen em cast shade for using two pieces from the same set.

Few things in this game are actually hard to acquire - and the ones that are have “reskinned” versions of them that are nearly indistinguishable. The things that were once hard or rare have been undermined and given as twitch drops, trader’s tender, or the test of time has made them available to virtually everyone.

Wow now operates on the idea of “get it before its gone” instead of “work for this thing”

Yo imma be real using 5 diff shades of green just for the purpose of “not using a set” looks terrible so at the end of the day wear what you think looks cool :dracthyr_heart: Moggie gatekeepers are dorks

Taking a set you like then finding a wep + tabard that matches and maybe changing your hair and stuff is like my favorite lil thing, even if it’s kind of basic

Exactly there is no creativity you got to mix and match sets . :stuck_out_tongue:

Same here, along with finding a mount that fits too.

Although I have yet to find one that works well with my Theramore guard transmog that isn’t the standard unarmored, vanilla model gryphon.

before transmog, i remember in TBC seeing a warrior in full t6 and being in awe because i didn’t raid anything past kara back then.

As they should. These are like the people that spend tons of money renting some elaborate costume for Halloween rather than being creative and making their own. It’s shameful. SHAMEFUL. How dare they. HOW DARE THEY!

yes… and the dopamine did not last for long.

I think age/time played is a big factor.

I’ve been on/off for 3 years since Korthia (Shadowlands) and I still remember being in awe of people’s cool exclusive stuff.

For me it was:

  • Shiny cat druid
  • Cool looking fire owl mount
  • Paladin exclusive legion mount

You’re right in that I probably don’t feel it as much anymore but I also have a lot going that gives me more dopamine. I play for the company.

No one cares about your collecrion of pixels besides you yourself. If i see a character with amazing achievements, i think no life nerd. Play the game for you. Achieve stuff in game or in life, for you. No reason to expect accolades. If you get respect great!! If not, don’t be sad about that. Do it for you or don’t.

I’ve played MMOs my entire life basically and I have never cared about what “cool” things people have and I don’t. Now, will I see a nicely thrown together transmog and think it’s nice? Sure, but not in a “oh man~ how can I look like that” kind of way. And I’m also not of the mindset that something that’s rare or hard to get is automatically cooler.

In terms of what people mogged, I never cared, I only cared about myself. In terms of mounts/pets, I honestly don’t care what people have. There are like 1000 mounts or something like that in the game so they are all meaningless to me lol.

I steal ideas for neat mogs…but mogs tend to come in two categories I find. People who mix and match some really unique looks and people showing off achievements like elite weapons.

The amount of shinies is so bloated nobody stands out anymore. When everyone is special nobody is. Whether that’s good or bad is debatable and personal preference, but either way, that’s what happened.
