With the release of the second pre expansion update, we’re rolling out additional class updates and a host of quality of life improvements—including user interface (UI) enhancements to Damage Meters, Boss Alerts, and more—as we make our final preparations for the launch of Midnight.
Hit it Fergie
Me and several others literally told people yesterday there would be no phase 2.
Thanks for making liars out of us, I guess.
Also, the link in article leads to EU forums.
Does this include Icicles being hidden outside of combat?
Bug fixes.
Stop making changes until the stuff you already broke is fixed.
Things going so badly they need a 2nd prepatch to fix the pre-parch
There is no Phase 2, lol just bug fixes and class tuning.
The link to the article just links to the Dec 2025 beta post.
Link corrected. We’ll have the notes up on the website this week as well.
I think it’s great you’re pushing changes early rather than making people wait til Midnight for their classes to feel better to play during prepatch.
Could you please give guilds back the ability to select personal loot as an option.
The Blizzard Need/Greed systems is not working to spec.
- Druids can roll and win need items for off spec items - and that I mean we have proof a resto or balance druid can win a need roll on an agility weapon.
- Players can, and have, won need rolls on lower ilvl gear than what they have currently equipped.
- Players can win need rolls on weapons that have dubious necessity in a spec. Case in point: Frost Death Knights can win a 2H weapon because Frost can hypothetically play 2H, even though the majority play DW. Second case - Fury Warrior can win a need roll on a 1H weapon, because there is a gameplay, though the majority of players DW 2H weapons. In both these cases, a spec with a “nice to have” option can win over specs where those items are a “need to have.”
I am sure there are other cases.
Blizzard has been told about all these issues, and has done nothing to resolve them. This forces teams to demand a manual system, which can easily be broken by someone not paying attention, and rolling when everyone else passes, or decides to ignore the team.
This in turn creates drama, which would not have been the case at all if personal loot were available as an option.
Since Blizzard refuses to refine the need/greed system to work satisfactorily, and refuses to bring back master looter as a remedy, at the very least, bring back personal loot, with the option to trade. There was NOTHING WRONG with personal loot. It was a simple and elegant model.
Just put personal loot back in this next patch. I am really tired of cleaning up after Blizzard’s need/greed system.
Looks much better with the improvements but this only makes me question why the prepatch launched in such a horrendous state when it clearly needed a few extra weeks
Ion stated awhile ago that they always error on the side of extreme and dial back because its looks worse when they take away. This is in regards to rewards and such. Not to addons.
Will this come with another attempt to fix transmogs for faction swapped and realm swap characters???
So no news on fixing Frost Mage’s water elemental not reappearing after dismounting problem?
Edit: I’m going to get an aneurysm waiting for this bug to get fixed.
Thank you Candle, glad to see you still around.
The wording makes it seem like it’s a real update and gives new content when it’s just bug/class fixes.
The performance has dropped since the release of the prepatch that included the UI changes.
Even in the Garrison, where I previously had over 240 FPS, I now get only about half of that. In modern dungeons (Shadowlands and newer), the FPS can’t go above 120. Raids and PvP battlegrounds are a disaster, dropping below 90 FPS and sometimes even reaching 30.
This was announced two months ago. You should keep up with the news.
