The Ridiculousness of Raider IO and applying to join groups in WoW

It sounds like multiplayer games are not for you.

You are talking about vanilla which i wasn’t talking about in regards to lfd

My argument is there you just don’t acknowledge/understand it, you keep repeating about abuse and i keep repeating you the same answer. Not my fault if you don’t understand

I finally bothered somewhat with Mythic dungeons the other week for the quest and did some with my guild where we were kinda just doing whatever with no concern for the timer.

Mythic+ requires a lot more effort than the normal mode raid which we basically face-rolled through last night and gives pretty much equivalent loot. I can see why people would look at M+ and see a cancerous addon like Raiderio and decide it wasn’t worth the trouble.

It’d be cool if M+ just basically died because of it.

Raider IO isn’t a problem.

If the “elitists” are playing only with other “elitists” that have high IO scores then that means those players that are perceived as a problem won’t be in your groups. It gives you the chance to play with other players around your experience and form your own groups to clear keys. If you’re only looking to join groups, find that there’s resistance due to your IO score and not even entertain the idea of making your own group then it’s not the system that’s at fault here.

Nah, all gearscore-style ranking addons are AIDS and so are the people who use them.

I never met a single player that cared a whole bunch about someone’s gearscore that wasn’t a completely insufferable prick no one should’ve played with. I’m kinda guessing that ratio remains for anything after.

Was last min puging low lvl (0-3) mythics last week for the weekly, had a 10 min fight on on the priestess of atal because people wouldn’t soak the transfusion and these where 380 ilvl people. This is why raider io is a thing.

That is never going to happen. Its free content for blizz, they just take the numbers it did before and add a multiplier. Nothing new in mythic +s

huh, I should have made more popcorn.

The irony of this situation is that I’m actually in an interesting boat when it comes to employment. There certainly are jobs where you want the “right guy”, ones you can’t trust to give to anyone else.

But at the same time, I’m also keenly aware that for the VAST majority of positions (especially once you start looking at specialist stuff)
you need to TRAIN people, bringing them up to speed to be able to perform the task in question.

Quite simply, you are NEVER going to find the perfect candidate for that position who is able to do it flawlessly the moment you hire them. You have to find someone who not just has the right base skills, but has the right attitude and willingness to learn.

The solution? Don’t try to find them, make them.

You’ll not just gain the right people in the long run, but they’ll be much more appreciative and will also pay it forward to others. This approach is ENTIRELY applicable in WoW, if you’re willing to put a little time and effort in to guide players along.

That being said, the point of this topic isn’t to argue the merits of Raider IO.

It’s well past the point of redemption, so I’m just trying to knock it off its pedestal that the community has placed it on through comedy.

In essence, I miss the days when I could just play a game and have fun.
To just have no worries about progression-obsessed jerks ruining my day.

Yakko, Wakko, Dot – take us away to our childhood!

when was the last time we had fun like that in WoW?

I think we’ll be fine without you lol

They already have difficulties tailored for you. Normal dingeons and LFR is what you’re looking for.

Is that for +10 and up or anything at all?

I’d like to get a bunch of M0 done for sets, practice, and gear.

Amusing that you honestly think access to content has ANYTHING to do with this topic.

On the contrary

it’s about killing off that dismissive and haughty attitude you’re swaggering about with.

It has everything to do with a video game where you’re expecting others to work with you and accept you. I try my very best to never have people I think aren’t up to the task on my team for anything team related. I suppose I’m an ace hole for doing that?

No. How about realize life is always easier when you’re good at something and you demonstrate it, and instead of reeling against that, embrace it and get better.

Not possible they are their attitude , it best their time is spent playing all day :+1:

So
 pretty much become this:

to get accepted into groups in WoW right now?

Indeed, we have come full circle and the parody has become reality.

It’s actually the opposite. It has nothing to do with time. It has to do with skill or with having friends. It’s really easy and not very time intensive to push your own key. You just have to be willing to lead.

Slowly working your scores up from nothings to 10s across the board might be time intensive, but that’s what you get if you want to solo and pug as the least valuable role (DPS).

Psh, working for a reward. How dare you encourage better play among people, they just need higher ilv so they can one-shot things!
