The return of AOO

So Alliance is back at a 20% buff which means that the numbers have been more lopsided this past week than they have been in a while. Against Overwhelming Odds is back, along with all the controversy that brings I’m sure.

I think it’s pretty clear that the changes Blizzard brought in to try to help the warmode imbalance aren’t having a huge impact overall. Hopefully the quest coming back will be another fire lit under their butts to address it.

Ah. Well that’s something to do this week.

It’s 385 gear, standard weekly conquest reward and normal raid, mythic +4 gear. All of which is easy to get and most people won’t have use for it unless it titanforges or for a transmog they don’t have yet.

Why controversy? It’s 385 gear now. My alts are higher ilvl only having killed 3 bosses in a normal raid and having done no m+. There’s no reason to even pick up the quest unless it’s a fresh 120 alt.

Well it is worth it for the conquest it provides to catch up or fill your weekly bar.

I didn’t say the controversy would be deserved but I’m sure people will still create some. Either claiming that one side or the other is crying, that they’re grouping up and killing people 20v1, camping flight paths or whatever.

The simple fact is that the increase in buff level means things have gotten worse, not better, with the faction imbalance. Not a healthy thing for the game and the state of world pvp.

Lopsided  Thats only because the alliance wasnt getting ‘paid’ to pvp…that’s so very sad that Blizzard has to babysit and bribe alliance to pvp in a game called the World of Warcraft

I miss pvp servers as they were, where we had people who WANTED to pvp and didnt need their hand held like a bunch of toddlers, we never were bribed with welfare weapons and gear and never got any, we earned ours the way you are supposed to, hacking it out in bgs for better gear.
Such a whiny new generation of alliance players, never would I have ever believed it if I didnt see it that Blizzard would one day have to bribe people to pvp…if you cant see how ridiculous that is, then I dont know how better to convey that. Say this to yourself ‘I have to be bribed to pvp, I cant pvp on my own accord, I have to wait for a bonus buff to be given to turn on warmode’ -_- Embarrassing.

Whats embarrassing is having a numerical advantage, Blizzard dangling a carrot for the underrepresented side to GIVE YOU MORE PVP and you still complain about it.

Cowards.

This is a fake issue, over all the alliance outnumber the horde. Not by much, but they do.

What you are complaining about is the number of people willing to participate in PvP. That is something blizzard can’t control, they can incentivize them with rewards and buffs like they are. But in the end the player has to choose to PvP.

And, like every time there is a bonus like this, they will turn warmode on and collect their loot. Than immediately turn it off. Because clearly the alliance doesn’t want to PvP.

Or you miss PvP servers where you had people who signed on to do PvP because their friends were there and you loved rubbing it in their faces to server transfer or PvP happened on said server.

I’ll clarify that having a bonus to PvP at all is embarassing. And by the way you missed the Horde Tear Train(Trademark. ™) on the way where you brought in irrefutable claim of “Alliance whiny new generation”.

True if you count all characters of any level. If you’re just counting level 120 characters, horde have a distinct advantage in numbers.

Alliance has a larger population of extremely casual/just-for-RP characters who never reach max level and don’t participate in any endgame activities.

Don’t think it will bring many people to turning on WM with a 385 item. But it will bring Horde tears though

I don’t want anyone to get paid to pvp, there should be no pve rewards for warmode. The buff and the AOO quest is a bribe for pve players and they shouldn’t be doing it if they aren’t serious about pvp.

The core issue is why is there a warmode imbalance in the first place and how do we fix it without resorting to pve bribes?

There are a bunch of us serious pvpers on the Alliance side and it’s disheartening to often be so overwhelmed by the other side. I’ll continue to fight but it gets difficult to get world pvp done when your side isn’t participating.

So we need some way to balance pvp out, either by splitting the larger faction up somehow or by getting some of them to fight for the smaller side. A third alternative is buffing the weaker side but I’m sure that will cause a huge outcry from the people who don’t get a buff.

I’m usually super chill… but lolwut?
You don’t get cake AND pie my friend, not how it works. PvP was for, well, PvP.

Ty.

I’m obligated to give you the proper reaction of “It’s called being active on the forums and reading stuff for little more than a few months.” with your "lolwut. ".
