I’m incredibly picky with movies and cheep as well so I rely on lets-plays and reviews for my decisions. (I usually rely on more than one review when it comes to movies) I know, not the best way to judge a movie but it wont prevent other people to just enjoy or even myself enjoying a movie any way.
I don’t think a recent movie ever ticked me off more than ‘Midsommar’, mostly since i’ve seen almost everyone and there mothers picking on the bf character when his major sin was… ‘trying to help his former gf deal with a trauma and get her back on her feet and get dragged to some out of no-where village for a festival?’ oh no? (Atleast the thanksgiving I had when seeing this was good?)
Seriously there was soooo many people making a leap judgement on him was so insanely uncomfortable that if it was gender-swapped people would of raised a stink that she was offed for the same reasons. Oh and it was about as scary as trying to deal with an over-priced waterbill. Maybe I’m spoiled from old Troma movies and B flicks but It… it just wasen’t scary.
I think the better horror film I saw was ‘Us’ which the ending still pissed me off on. The director has good concepts! there pay-off/endings just… -fart noise-
