The reasons why i believe that the wow token would be beneficial for SoD

Must be why they need to scam the fanbase by pretending all proceeds from a toy sale would go towards tournament winnings. Only to turn around and say nevermind we change our minds, it’s too much money to not pocket ourselves.

Because you know, Blizzard e-sports makes money. ROFL It’s not like Blizzard completely deleted their entire e-sports department years ago.

The rot is real.

Aww thanks !!!

And for those reasons, I’m out.

Yes e-sports does make blizzard money. Thank you for agreeing with me, friend
Have a lovely day

The entire point of SoD is to get away from the “Buy Token, Buy boost, get IO/gear to get into groups” Pay to win garbage that has become the entire endgame Loop for most retail players.

It’s why the game is dying.

As far as the botting argument is concerned. People seem to have a real hard time understanding this. But the WoW Token works because of botting.

Bot’s drive down normal players ability to earn gold, so they buy tokens to be able to afford the inflated costs of everything because of the Bots. Token’s don’t work without them, and it’s why Blizzard has done very little to stop the rampant botting since the tokens introduction. Botting EARNS them money in subs and token sales. OSRS has the exact same issue.

I’m not sure if you people are delusional or just trolling.

Token was added back in WoD. Did nothing at all to stop bots.

Token was added to WOTLK Classic. Did nothing at all to stop bots.

Where the hell are people coming up with this insane idea that token somehow stops bots, even after having token implemented TWICE and neither time did it do anything to reduce the number of bots?

People still don’t get that botting earns Blizzard money because it makes the WoW Token the most efficient way for normal players to be able to afford anything.

Bots inflate the currency. Normal people can’t spend 200 hours to grind enough gold to do anything, so they buy tokens. It’s intentional. Blizzard profits from RMT.

Look at OSRS (a game with 70% of the player count consisting of bots) for an extreme example of the exact same cycle.

Bots deflate the prices of things due to higher supply they create.

Making gold in this game isn’t hard, you can literrally sit in front of the AH and make gold.

They literally create gold. (See dungeon spam bots).

They do deflate the price of things players can farm to earn money themselves incentivizing Token sales. Blizzard directly profits from RMT and bot farms because of the token. And it shows, they do not control the botting problem because it would cost them money.

how about no

thank you very much, friend

So delusional.

It’s not a matter of opinion; it’s just fact that e-sports in the West is a giant cash sink. It’s not a coincidence investors have been jumping ship over the past few years.

But go ahead and bury your head in the sand and pretend otherwise.

Team liquid has seen lots of profits from their investment into league of legends as well as their investment into the retail Race to World First and Arena World Championship.

Lmfao, you mean the same Team Liquid that recently needed an injection of $35 million from investors? That Team Liquid? Why would they need to raise more money if they’re so profitable like you claim?

Not to mention World of Warcraft is absolutely in last place when it comes to priorities for Team Liquid.

why would investors give them money if they weren’t making a profit?

it is quite common for successful companies to raise more capital so that they can expand further and increase their profits even more.

that’s just business class 101… how do you not understand that?

citation please

Because surely, those investors who bought into the OWL for as much as $20M a team are reaping the benefits today.

Because surely, these e-sports orgs are so financially successful, but they’ve yet to figure out a way to self-sustain instead of relying on constant injections of funds from outside investors by an organization founded over 20 years ago. “Business 101” LMFAO

Asks for citations when he hasn’t listed a single one, it’s just pure comedy at this point. Just Google it, most of Liquids earnings in e-sports come from League and Dota.

you act as though profitable corporations never seek investors so that they can expand.

again, if Liquid were so unsuccessful, then the investors would never give them any money.

investors only invest money into companies that are capable of giving them a return on their investment - yes, that is “business 101”.

if you could provide a citation, that would be wonderful.

thank you so much for your time, i really appreciated your thoughtful input to the topic, friend

Pretty sure League of Legends is a much more successful game than World of Warcraft and there is no RMT

The keyword there is expand, doofus. You’re sitting there comparing business expansions to a esports team adding a new roster or something like that and wrapping it all under the same category. So bad.

And quite literally no, not all investments end up in returns. Especially in something as volatile as sports/esports. It’s why most professional leagues have revenue sharing.

Stop talking about things you have zero understanding of.
