crackdown came when gold farmers were using “bots” to farm and level, I remember only using macros for awhile until we started raiding then using a threat meter, dps meter and DBM… eventually got a UI mod as well
None of which makes it rough. Retailers will be fine. However Im sure you need your ego stroked so continue on.
Addon prohibitionists are making rage posts now I see. This once is especially funny since the infant who made is is arguing in favor of a change.
Spot on
Damn, didn’t take long for them to follow you here
Yeah i get what you’re saying about BG and AC but my statement was more about general difficulty of games back then compared to now. I didn’t intend to compare their styles to wow.
But if you want to, then yes, EQ was far more difficult than WoW ever was.
On a side note, i really miss games like that.
Point out a single place I am arguing for a single change. One. Juuuust one. You can’t cause I haven’t. I have one active post about a cosmetic thing I wished I could bring but I also state both there and elsewhere around here that i understand why it won’t change and I am fine with it… you people amaze me to no end.
To be fair, it was the same in Vanilla. All these idiots claiming that using addons was lame and they didn’t need some addon to tell them how to play. Then they did dumb stuff and died.
Op and others like him will always exist, in a bubble where they can only hear the echo of their own voice. They make up what they don’t know, and make cringe threads like this.
I do too. Personally believe there is no pvp that can compete to DAoC, bit having hope for the future games.
Is that really a problem? The problem with LFD was random matchmaking and teleporting to the dungeon. A tool to more easily find groups and not have to deal with random off-topic messages being spammed in the chat channel isn’t going to kill Classic.
You still have to find a group, join that group, be social, and so on.
We got gear score addons because Blizzard revealed the item level of items in-game, and started normalizing how stats were budgeted, such that higher item level gear almost always meant better gear.
Gear score probably can’t exist as it did in WotLK and beyond because items that drop in Naxx can be less powerful than items that drop in Phase 1 dungeons depending on how the stats are allocated.
And “everyone” wants you to have a certain achievement to join a run because it proves you know what you’re doing. If you think that didn’t exist in vanilla, you’re wrong.
Uh, no. Anyone who actually wants no changes is AGAINST add-ons being banned, because add-ons existed in vanilla.
So, people are upset about people trying to ‘break the spirit of vanilla’ by rallying to ban addons. A feature that existed in vanilla.
I just hope you guys dont go mucking up realm forums like this because having a garbage community would be the greatest defeat for classic WoW.
Point out anywhere I said to not use add ons or that I dont or didnt use them… anywhere at all.
Literally no one cares.
The point is we will be forced to use that addon. I don’t want trade chat cleaned up. I want it just as it was in 2006. Just like everyone was forced to use gear score and ilvl addons before Blizzard implemented them into the game.
by rallying to ban addons
To be clear I don’t want to ban all addons. Just ones like LFG. Things that take the community out of it. Plus, this go around we’re gonna be using world chat instead of trade.
You clearly want the addon API broken to fit your ignorant agenda.
How will you be forced to use this addon. It even posts to trade chat when players are there. How will not having this addon affect you in a way that isn’t glaringly doomsaying.
Nobody I knew used gear score or ilvl addons. We understand how strong gear is by looking at it, if you were poorly geared you got the help you needed you weren’t pushed away. Especially since gear is so poorly optimized in Vanilla, such addons are actually quite useless. Best in slot for some healers pre-raid is a green quest reward in EPL simply because its so dramatically min/maxed with 20 int and 6 mana per 5.
“Spirit of vanilla” is just rhetoric. They are just raging at anything they can in order to push their prohibitionist agenda.
I’m ifnorant? You do know they banned and broke add ons all theu vanilla up thru… Wrath? Idk exactly when they stopped. And i’m the ignorant one… I don’t want all add ons gone. I love em. Help clear up my bags, a grid for map. I even used Atlas tho that is honestly a grey area imo.
So wait… you go from cleaning up trade chat to saying the addon posts in trade chat? There should be NO LFG addon no matter what.
This actually makes me wonder if anyone is going to use /4 or if they are going to stick to “World”.
Ya I don’t think iLevel started till… Wrath right? Or was it gear score? Might have been GS. I do know it was heavily used then.
