The Race to World First in Nerub-ar Palace Has Begun!

How about you make the raids easier so we can get 8/8 and not wipe over and over again

I doubt the usual frontrunners in the RWF use very many tokens at all, actually. Their networks are so extensive they’re more likely to get both items and gold for free from external sources.

Except for all those years they did it for free

Nah Nihilum era for Classic and TBC were offering the best races. Just basements hero going up against other basement heroes.

Modern guilds hire addon developers and hlgot sponsors and can just afford to not work to play. It’s pretty mediocre

They borrow and pay back selling mount runs and whatnot

A lot of these races cost billions in borrowed gold via loans from what i recall. Takes them quite awhile to pay it all back in carries.

I have no idea lol. Is that his thing? I watched when they first won worlds first and became a fan, I never heard a raid leader like that, but i don’t watch his stream normally.

I was just joking but it’d be funny to see. He’s a bit of a wild dude when he gets a bit crazy.

When you’re staring at a computer monitor 16 hrs a day, makes you loopy

Yeah actually. The amount of materials and alts and boosting characters to have mythic rushed mains is expensive. This is not you or me who spend a couple hours to make gold and some world quest to get our weekly consumables for m+ and our scheduled raided.

Responding to Pad, i know.

Game shouldn’t be balanced around playing poorly and refusing to learn your 3-5 button rotation that only even matters at the higher levels of play. They take their feedback because they’re playing things properly, and therefore understand what’s actually over or under performing. We rely on experts in all fields of anything in society for a reason.

All of that is to say your rant makes no sense, they balanced around top end capability before this race existed.

The meta exists whether the RWF happens or not, content creators also exist on every game (runescape has a “meta” now) ← you’re complaining about human nature while blaming the 100 or so people in the race, it’s literally asinine.

You disliking something doesn’t mean others do, and the race doesn’t impact you at all.

Having said that; should be a fun one, the fights are great and, assuming tuning is done well, the final 4 should be fun to watch them min max and figure out.

Yeah pros and exploiters took a simple game like agario that was fun messing around in to some sweaty ultra tryhard thing with bots. I’ve learned people these days can’t keep having a good thing because others ruin it for everyone else. Sometimes simple is good cause it works well and is fun.

If you only listen to hyper niche players who spend all of their time trying to get rewarded by exploiting mechanics in a game, you end up with an echo chamber that only appeals to that one group.

The real problem is that Blizzard leaves almost 100% of testing up to people who only care about the deepest end game. And the rest of the game is basically an untested mess.

It isn’t rocket science.

They’re doing split raids, which involve basically funneling all loot drops into a very small number of players. With almost every Liquid raider having over a dozen alts, plus paying random players up to 250k gold per run to join the raid and pass on all loot drops, they just take whichever character(s) got the best loot funneled to them. That’s not shenanigans; splits have existed even back in ICC, if not even earlier than that.

What you’re talking about is a twofold exploit that involves both looting tons of Warbound Until Equipped gear from bosses you’ve already killed and, most notably, players hearthing out of an encounter right before a raid boss dies so they get loot but do not get loot locked to the boss. If you look on Wowprogress you’ll see a large number of guilds (particularly on US-Illidan, with a few here on US-Sargeras) that have players with ilvls as high as or even higher than the luckiest Liquid/Echo raiders.

Unlike the luckiest Liquid/Echo raiders, though, those players have MULTIPLE Heroic boss kills, including well over a dozen Heroic Queen Ansurek kills, on a single character registered on their official Armory pages. You cannot hide these statistics from the Armory, and is a massive, massive difference from what the RWF guilds are doing, since even Thd’s most geared Warlock has a single kill on every single Heroic boss. He might’ve killed them multiple times across multiple characters, but that’s perfectly okay. Meanwhile, some nobody guild named on US-Illidan that hadn’t even killed Mythic Council of Dreams (a very easy boss) last tier has a 615 Warlock with a full Heroic 4set, two Very Rare items, and guildies that also have full Heroic 4sets and multiple Very Rare items. In fact, some of these guilds are stupid enough to have exploited this hard enough to have multiple Hero track Very Rare items across their raid team. If you’re not doing split raids at the level of Liquid/Echo/Method, this is literally impossible.

And as a PSA: I described an exploit in this post for a good reason. You WILL get banned if you replicate this the way some of these guilds are replicating it, likely for 6 months if not permanently. Half of the guilds you see at the front page of Wowprogress are going to have most if not all of their raiders receive hefty bans in the very near future.

The bane of mt existence

The guy in charge is an elitist at heart. WoW will never change. Doesn’t Asmongold get more views on a random stream about his dirty house than RWF gets at peak?

I’ve just never cared about this at all.

Thanks this was informing.

How does it affect you?
