The queues are so long

Who doesn’t want to say, “come find me in Old Blanchy”?!

We all paid for the game stop telling people what server to play on. If it was full then Blizzard should have stopped allowing character creation, end of story.

Most likely the people who have a job and a real life who only made it to at most 10 will reroll on a new server.

I only hit 7 last night before I had to sleep for work. I just rerolled on Ashkandi. It’ll balance out eventually, after a dozen more server.

Yeah, good point. I hope my good luck will hold on Old Blanchey and Westfall this weekend or it’s super long queue time for me as well!

Legally (only legally) you did not pay for classic. It’s a free bonus and they are free to delete all of it in a second.

Same.

3H wait, 1h30 of play time (level 7), DC => 15k queue. I did not wait…

Yeah that sounds like a great idea, just piss off literally everyone, the hundreds of thousands of people playing Classic. I’m sure they will still play Blizzard games and give them their money after that lol.

We should be so grateful that Daddy Blizzard doesn’t just delete Classic and take it all away from us. Do you hear yourself?

Question for you all, if Blizz decides to make more servers now, and in a couple months all the servers are dead., would you be willing to give up your characters name for server merges? Or would you want cross realm tech on these classic servers?

Why is everyone so sure that the servers are gonna be dead in a couple of months? Can you see into the future?

I’m curious which queue you think he should move to? Please do tell.

Oh there will be dead servers in a few months. Most of them Retail servers.

They won’t. It’s 99.99% sure. But, they have a legal protection in case they need to for some reason.

The more troubling aspect of these queues is that, because of how Blizz implemented the name reservation, the people on the original servers (and their first-tier backups) are the ones most likely to stick with Classic long-term in the first place. Which means those queues are not going down over time. What is Blizz’s plan long-term? They were trying to avoid needing transfers in the first place, but that is going to be the only viable option down the road when nobody wants to move. The single alternative I can think of is permanent layering, which is a really, really bad option long-term, for all the reasons we didn’t want layering in the first place.

On top of that, because technology is more stable in 2019 than it was in 2004, people are less likely to get disconnected on their end, which means those queues are moving far more slowly these days than they were in vanilla. And if you think you’re going to log on far in advance, it won’t help. I was logged in on Stalagg earlier today, but lost my place when the server mass kicked us off. I’ve been waiting for 2 hours since then in a queue currently at 6651, and not likely to get back in for several hours yet at the current turnover rate.

I’m a tough old WoW veteran who has seen a lot of long queues and server instability over the years, and I can stick it out if I have to, but I’m not sure it’s actually going to get better. But if I move, I risk the newer servers – much more likely to be housing tourists than the old ones, because of how Blizz rolled them out – becoming ghost towns over time. What’s a girl to do?!?

You don’t need to be able to see into the future to know that. They’ve already been dead even before Classic launch.

Well there’s nothing to reroll on. Everything is full >.<

No, it your fault, not Blizzard fault for thinking that Blizzard was going to do any more than they had already stated. They are not going to open up more capacity on the existing realm, because they want to get to one layer only by phase two. They are not going to open up additional realms until all existing realms are full to capacity.

Blizzard has no idea which server your friends and guild mates are on and frankly, it is not their job to do so. Blizzard job is to make sure that all current established realms have cohesion and continuity throughout the lifespan of each realm. Adding more realms and layers defeat both of those scenarios.

Blizzard does not want the abortion of retail to happen in Classic. I am not sure how hard that is for many self-indulged adults to understand. For people screaming about other having a sense of entitlement. The bulk of the whining on these Classic realms are coming from the very people that been whining for 14 frickin on how great Vanilla was.

Exactly, rerolling is only a band aid at best.
