The problem with Classic

Eyr you’re an 8 pack of crayons masquerading as a 64 pack and it’s a shame you can’t see that.

I agree.

I am currently playing a lot on Nightslayer and here are the patterns I am noticing. For reference, I have been playing since 2004 and I also play retail on and off.

  • An even higher dislike of hybrids. I personally love to have them in my party.

  • More selfishness than before. I always help people but no one wants to help me. It feels like no one has time for anything that does not benefit them. It is as if they will literally die IRL if they do not chase their bis.

  • An extreme amount of backseating. I know quite a bit about the game but I am low profile about it in-game. I don’t really offer unsolicited advice because we all know how some people take it… However, I am constantly being told what to do, before I even make any mistake. I am also sometimes being told to do something because the person telling me so has been following some content creator / reading guides, but did not experiment themselves. There is sometimes more than one way guys.

  • Most guild that I see advertise speed running, hardcore, semi hardcore, parsing, high focus on world buffs etc.

  • Yes, the Hard Reserve insanity is real. I play deep prot a lot so I can easily join groups but damn, it must be rough for dps out there

  • People constantly rolling on gear that isn’t for their main spec. Yes I know this is not new at all. However I feel like the apathy is even stronger today.

The greed is unreal. I could go on and on but you get it.

I’m a kind person IRL and I love to help in-game as well. I just wish I could see it reciprocated. I haven’t seen a single person go out of their way to help me, it’s kinda sad. I still help though, because it’s just my nature.

I need to find a guild, but the stars have to be aligned in terms of schedule, mindset, and role availability (MT or OT, could probably flex DPS), and sensical loot rules.

Thanks for reading lol

of course it is. if something drops that a player wants, why wouldn’t they just roll on it? they’re worried about their server reputation? lol, doubt it :expressionless:

I’m not sure we’re referring to the same bunch of people but Ive read the tales of those who played sweaty but got more enjoyment out of the game when they abandoned that play style. I call it maturing.

There’s more than one way to enjoy Classic Era and people aren’t limited to one option so you can have your cake and eat it too.

As somewhat of an aside, Era being comprised of the launch servers that will be around for years to come with its decidedly niche population lends itself to a more relaxed and care free environment to call home imo.

The BG scene is down in it’s up and down cycle but otherwise its still a cool ride.

Yup, and super fun players

The sweats are actually the tiny minority. Most players arent even 60 yet.
