I feel you man. I just got 247 after taking a break at the start of the patch due to work. Now there are practically no normal sepulcher groups up and when they do they require aotc. I’ll start groups and advertise them as learning groups but they rarely get people.
WoW has the problem of once you are behind, you are behind for good unless you put in sweaty levels of work or buy a boost. I am probably better off sitting this patch out and waiting for 10.0

You’re 262 ilvl and have no sepulcher experience whatsoever.
Why do you think you can just join a jailer kill on heroic? Entitled forum players, man.
Or progress with a guild of likeminded and similarly progressed people working together to accomplish the goal.
Instead of asking people to carry you.
And the community will find another standard to set. Beem happening since time immemorial
Which is fine and we’ll, but I am not asking anyone to carry me. I don’t expect anyone to carry me. I want to do the work and pull my own weight but because I am so far behind of everyone I can’t get into the content even on a base level where the mechanics do matter anymore. To get into Normal or Heroic you need experience, to get experience you need to run the content. It’s a cycle of “Need experience to do the thing but have to do the thing to get experience.”
A guild with a set raiding schedule isn’t the answer to everyone’s problem. I work thirds so my only real options for a raiding guild is early morning, which most of the time means OCE. It’s a real problem that WoW has that once you get far enough behind you are quite honestly better off sitting the rest of the patch out.
The thing I’m honestly most surprised about is the fact that PuG AotCs are supposedly active already.
It’s realistically not that far into the patch release and less than 700 guilds globally have earned AotC.
Download the fake achievement linker add on. Solved
its not about proving that you are good. its about the group only wanting people who have completed it.
And honestly not every group is an AOTC group. just go find one that isn’t.
The OP is probably just trolling
Sorry, it might be actually related to you playing BM. Many know it is at the bottom of DPs and they may just not be inviting you based on some chart.
The difference is this is a game, not a job. But this is the type of community Blizzard fostered, but it is what it is and OP is out of luck unless he just goes and buys a AOTC and then he’d be very welcome in that group.

That argument doesn’t work at all, you are dealing with other people who have their success reliant upon you knowing what you are doing. That’s how it goes.
There is no rule that says “games with social interactions defy basic social norms because they’re games.” We act just as people do in real life in multiplayer games, ESPECIALLY MMOs because they are a microcosm of society given how large scale they are with their multiplayer aspects. If someone was a pile of trash human, they were blacklisted on a server back in the older days. If you were a really good person, people knew you and wanted your company. AKA how real life works.
The ONLY difference is that it’s easier to reset your identity if you screw up, in real life you really can’t do this. Pee on a tree and you’re on a registry, make a really bad mistake, you’re in prison. You can’t undo those or just reset. Note, neither of these examples apply to me, I just threw them out because these are very basic cases of someone screwing up and it damaging their entire surrounding life. On a game you just reroll a new server and toon.
The actual issue is the fact that people are not willing to give people a chance. For all we know, OP would be an asset to that team but they are not willing to even give him a tryout. But like I said, all he needs to do is go buy the AOTC and he’d be more than welcome to join that group.
Seems really stupid to me. But then I wouldn’t run with people like that.

To get experience you need to run the content, but to run the content you need experience which you can only get by running the content.
The community has a gatekeeping problem and people need to admit it. I would be willing to bet most of us that are making these complaints don’t want to be carried, we just want to run the content without dedicating our lives to a video game.

tryouts are for guilds, not one-night pugs.
a pug group’s goal is downing the content, not finding people for the long term.
People are under no obligation to give you a chance because you ask for it. I can’t apply for some sports team and say “Nah dude, trust me I could be valuable.” I see this levied towards everyone else like they are supposed to just keep taking chances and waste their time. Even if it’s a video game, you do not get that time back. If we were immortal I could see an argument to this, but we aren’t.
It’s just surprising people think the problem is people not willing to potentially waste their time taking in every stray and not the people who expect X amount of other people to potentially waste their time giving them a chance.
Oh? So you think if AotC was removed then players wouldn’t come up with some other method to gatekeep?
then why aren’t people looking for non AOTC groups to join?
The “the only groups I can find say AOTC only” thing is a lie.
