I’ve had more than a handful of moments where I simply agreed to disagree. Even if the other party wants to get the last word or gloat how correct they are, it doesn’t matter as long as you don’t need to do that.
That’s how I feel. Most people I’ve agreed to disagree with, do the same. Some people chase you though. I let them have the last word as well.
As someone else said arguments on any level comes down to wanting to be correct.
When it comes to philosophical things there’s no such thing as correct. And until they get over that hurdle there’s never going to be room for discussion
oh yeah the forum is filled with garbage people and the people that want to fight with them.
Yea, i only hate a great dislike of those who claim void elves should be completely converted to high elf because nobody wanted them. I love the concept of the void and am really sad they instead diluted them instead of giving them more void. Which only powered up those people…
I do like alliance high elves and in a perfect world they would be a seperate race to void elves.
So blizz is at fault here too.
I don’t know what metric they used for this but it wasn’t good enough.
No one ever said this. Please cite source. No one acts like this. I win and you lose.
Like that?

It’s not exactly 100% wrong though. Several case studies have been conducted on the subject of what most people would REALLY do if they thought no consequences actually applied, and the results are… not great in their implications.
For example one blind study:
The Milgram experiment, found that when a person COULD blame a higher authority for their behavior rather than themselves, they would.
In essence if a person could say “just following orders” they would as an excuse for their actions.
Similar studies have found that the way people weigh risk versus rewards effectively dictates that without comparable consequences to their actions, people would honestly do as they please.
There were of course outliers, one or two people here or there refused to do the shocking or commit terrible acts, however as with any set of data these are of course still outliers, not the average or common mode.
You misspelled their.
Summary
Made you look. Kek!
In real life there are very real consequences to your actions. On a forum there are basically none. I’m not saying all people are bad online that’s not the case luckily. But when you play a game like wow/lol/dota you’re really treading in a cesspool - to be honest this applies to a lot more games than those I mentioned. Just mere examples.
This is also where it helped a bit with having a solid server community(but that’s all gone when you start clustering servers). Anything that makes people think twice before writing or doing something is generally a good thing.
Well it’s more of the implication you’re getting across here.
Okay sure. I get standing up for yourself or others.
I think it has to be proportionate though, like not allowing yourself to become a bully while doing it, you know?..
That is true, though that haven’t stopped really anybody from doing that. At least, it only stops people who are willing to see and consider the consequences and try not to engage at all that is.
Don’t Blizzard ban you ingame if you did something wrong to get a ban on the forums?
Either way, i think you’re forgetting that there is consequences on the forums, it’s not just immediate. And that’s of coarse being reputation. And considering we just had a video about the WoW Forums, it’s only a matter of time really.
That is true.
Ehh, on the right context, it’s a good thing.
But if we people worrying about what their going to say, even if it’s something completely innocuous because their exist people who are looking for reasons to be offended by anything and will never pretty much accept your apology or just pretty much want you gone… Well to put it “generally” is a bit a questionable honestly.
This is what I don’t like about writing. Something is almost always left out.
I stay silent about a lot. I don’t like silence as far as, for example, if you have an argument - patch it up asap. I know some ppl use silence as manipulation. I don’t like silence when seeing others pushed around. I don’t like silence when ppl can’t even say hello or good morning.
Should have reversed course on that thought when you decided to make a goofy rage thread because other people were disagreeing with you in another.
I welcome ppl with opposite opinions. It’s great to have a conversation with someone with opposite views when both parties can be respectful.
I won’t talk to ppl who disrespect and are mean clowns. unless I want to for entertainment
Ok? So kind of like a clown that makes a rage thread because others disagreed with them lol.
Nah we don’t do that here, check the discords
https://reddit.com/r/wow/wiki/discord
Orange text just means they are community council, they don’t work for or represent Blizzard or anyone other than themselves for that matter.
If you want Blizzard to background check every single message a person has ever posted I think we’ll have to change the recruiting period to 10 years
Thanks for sharing this. Simply fascinating.
