The gear entitlement for tier is real. So funny. Who cares? I mean the expansion is pretty much over and NOW you get the good gear? Pft. it will be worthless again in the next xpac.

Somewhere along the line, people forgot (or never learned) that disagreeing doesn’t need to be full of vitriol. The constructive is tossed aside for outright criticism.
Hate gets more ‘likes’ than politely disagreeing and being open to further conversation.
As I like to say: it is what it is, but it SHOULD be something else.

You cannot even politely agree to disagree, when everyone is determined to be correct. You cannot leave a conversation without someone trying to literally drag you back into it. I think some people are just too invested in their online personas and those personas sometimes take over.

GD is where people come to voice their displeasure, whether it is warranted or not. The people genuienly enjoying themselves can be found in-game while the people unhappy and upset with the state of the game can be found here. Hence why the forums seem hateful and toxic.
Are there people who go to far? Oh most definetly, but not everyone is like that an a good majority only want to see the game they enjoy get better.
I’m of the thought that what people type on the boards/internet is who they are as a human. There is no online persona, it’s just who they are. They tell you with their words. It’s how we all communicate. I don’t give anyone the benefit of the doubt that they are just ‘angry/rotten’ on the GD…they are just angry/rotten in general for one reason or another.

That is a dismal thought and their may be some truth to it. Are we our “true” selves on here? For some people, I sure hope not. I don’t think people are “hateful” like the title of this thread suggests, I just see their actions on here and for some people I feel kind of bad. Mostly for the people who choose to troll, that feel like they need to act out on a public online space. I feel like there are much more productive and constructive means of catharsis.

I actually came to the GD because I wanted to find others who like the game as much as I do. The boards are not truly here for venting/displeasure therapy…but they ARE because of reasons. 
I agree with much of what you said and it’s sad that you frame it as a displeasure palace, as correctly as it seems to be. 
Trust me, it makes me sad too. I remember when I first came to the forums and people were pretty happy and cheerful. Sure you still had the unhappy posts but they were the exception and not the rule, now its the other way around and anyone who voices their happiness with the game and enjoyment gets labeled as a blizzard shill.
I honestly agree it’s dismal, also believe it to be true. It’s not like someone rescues a puppy, helps an old lady across the street on their way to volunteer at a soup kitchen, then comes here and becomes the ‘hateful’ version of themselves.

The real world? I’ve been out there. The graphics were terrible and I stubbed my toe on a sidewalk.

Don’t be ascared! 
I’m polite(-ish) and joking here as I am in real life. Pretty sure I’m not alone in that and like everyone else I have bad days and can wear it on my sleeve. However, when I am truly miserable I don’t seek company like some tend to do.
You need that add-on that tells you to ‘watch your feet’. 
I’d say most people using this forum come here originally because of a negative reason but then stick around because it’s just nice to complain or talk about the game in general, though the people here with 10s of thousands of posts really need to evaluate their lives and probably unironically go outside and touch grass.
The dating expansion sucks too. Way too hard and only gets harder as you level up.
