The Only Good Blizzard Game Left

This is hilarious

WoW is the only game on battle.net that I play often. I have played diablo 4 a bit but… it’s in such a rough state and the developers seem to have no idea how to make a proper arpg. Never played overwatch and I think I did some hearthstone to get the mount that was it. I do not like games like that where you can straight up buy things. Then again I guess wow kind of falls into that category as well with tokens these days…

WoW is about as good as it’s always been. Players just get tired of it after playing for, you know, 10-20 years and all that’s left is for them to complain about the little things despite sticking around anyway. That’s not to say I think everything is perfect. It’s not. But there’s nothing gamebreaking happening with its current design. The core design is still mostly the same as it’s been since about Cata, just with dungeons being more relevant now.

But I’d also disagree with OP.

Hearthstone is totally fine for what it is. It’s not my thing, TCGs are just moneysinks if you want to be competitive. But the game itself is fine.

Overwatch is still a really fun Hero Shooter or whatever you want to call it. It’s not 2016 anymore so it’s not hyped to hell and back anymore, but much like WoW, it’s not as if the game magically got worse. Players just played long enough to become jaded. (Note: talking purely gameplay here. Yes, rebranding as Overwatch 2 despite cancelling the Progression / Campaign thing and making MTX significantly worse was scummy. But none of that affects the actual existing game)

I haven’t got around to playing D4 yet, but I played plenty of D3, and literally the only time I thought poorly of it was when the RMAH was a thing, and they removed that fairly early on.

Yes, Starcraft is dead.
Yes, HotS is dead.

But that’s 2 of 6. Not that bad.

Good is very subjective, and i would say this game has dipped in quality to the point of being ok at best

I do agree every ip they have has gotten worse to various degrees

Maybe because of people you enjoy playing with, even if the game isn’t good. Also because we can easily afford the $15/month. I’m sure more reasons exist.

nope. i promise you i have just as much time and energy and desire to play it now as i did 20 years ago. but i don’t want to, BECAUSE IT’S BAD. BAD BAD BAD.

Honestly it surprises me too. But I do still see people streaming it, and a few of my friends still play regularly.

Wow Classic series is still my favorite and I don’t know what I’ll do id wow goes offline… I’m sure something else will come along. Same thing happen back when I first started shadowbane… few months after starting, its was taken offline. I do get a reprieve as spring is around the corner which means travel and car shows.

Ya know, can we for once, have somebody say they love wow and yet they’ve never played it once before? It would be a flesh of breathe air compared to ā€œi-hate-wow-yet-im-still-gonna-play-it-and-complainā€ guy #196812.

I cant cancel my sub cuz i dont have one, i have 2 years free

But almost nothing has changed

Despite the screeching on leddit or youtube people actively play diablo ow and ofcourse hateplay wow.

Sc2 scbw and hots are still being played. Hots should hqve vanished into the underworld but people still play it (Hots is pure sovl).

What changed? That cod is there too?

Diablo 2 Resurrected
Warcraft Orcs vs. Humans
Starcraft
Warcraft 2
Diablo

There are still more than one left.

Which makes it even more pathetic that you’re here on a forum of a video game you don’t even like. lol

Still having fun with D3

I still feel that way. I finally got around to playing Classic. Then I found that not only is there Classic Wrath of the Lich King but there is also Classic Classic, the way the game was when it 1st came out.

Since I started playing in Cataclysm, one thing that was fun to see is what the world looked like before Deathwing came along and busted everthing up. In partcular there is Loch Modan in the Dwarven area which has a giant lake in the middle and a functional dam at one end. I actually ran out onto it and looked over both sides. Now I’m curious to see what the Wetlands look like.

Another thing I noticed is how Lich King looks more like what we have today in terms of the interface while Classic Classic was far more primitive. For example with the game maps, Classic doesn’t have numbers and ā€œ?ā€ to mark your quest locations. You have to figure out where things are from the quest text. Lich King does.

Also tallent trainers actually teach you things. I had forgotten about that.

Classic Era is.

That must be an awful life to spend your time playing a game you don’t like in fear your friendship is only held together by one game. I hope one day you find friends beyond a game or your Warcraft friends are willing to expand their horizon.

Even in maintenance mode HoTs still has an audience.

(Which hopefully WoW will go into once it’s decided the game doesn’t bring in the cash instead of pulling the plug.)

Yeah you seem like a stable and reasonable person to give opinions on things.

There’s a really easy solution to this:

FIX WARCRAFT 3.

STOP MAKING EXCUSES, STOP PUTTING OUT HALF-MEASURE HOTFIXES, AND GET THE DAMN GAME WORKING AGAIN LIKE IT DID BEFORE YOU BROKE IT.
