The one true path?

Some people have argued that Xe’ra and the army of the light only believed in one true path, the light, supposedly exemplified by Xe’ra and her opposition to Alleria using void magic. But we saw that the army of the light and Xe’ra accepted mages into their ranks, meaning at least Arcane magic is considered acceptable to the light.

I strongly suspect she would feel the same way about life magic, and thus, Xe’ra was only opposed to the bad kinds of magic, Void, Fel, and Death. This goes to show that even the more fanatical naaru like Xe’ra didnt want to force their followers to use only light magic, but rather, merely to avoid the more evil forms of magic with terrible consequences to their use.

It seems like Xe’ra wasn’t really wrong, Alleria’s dabbling in the void is going to bite us in the butt, not if, but when. And Illidan staying a demon served no purpose other than to stoke his ego, he couldn’t accept that his way of doing things was wrong.

You’re gonna have a tough time verifying it with her.

Wonder if Naaru have souls that go to the shadowlands upon death. If so, we may see her again.

God I hope not, idk if we can reach Illidan at the moment to take care of her again.

It isn’t about some people arguing it. Blizzard themselves has said the Light sees one truth and one true path while the void sees every path as true.

Note that the Lightforged Mages in the Army of the Light have Light woven into the casting animations for their arcane spells.

She already exists on AU Draenor and we’ll probably see her when the Lightbound inevitably open a portal to the world linked to theirs, ie, Azeroth in our pocket dimension.

On topic- X’era seemed to have been more opposed to the Void because it was a part of her own cycle that she didn’t want to face. I think she was hiding the fact that she didn’t like the void because she was afraid of what it could do to her-turn her into a being that can no longer espouse the ideals she enforced on others.

No doubt she would also be opposed to death magic as it is antithetical to the Light, but if the Lightbound are any indication, sooner or later even all other magics would be snuffed out in the face of the Light-reordering of species and planets. Do note that on AU Draenor, even life magic was failing in the face of the Light onslaught.

Of course, but there is still some arcane mixed in there. Also, when did blizzard say it? I thought Locus Walker said it, and of course, he seems like the biased against the light type.

She actually praised Illidan’s use of Fel Magic… She still wanted to Lightforge him yet we hear nothing about her getting rid of his Fel Magic…

The Arcane user in the Lightforged uses Arcane and Light at the same time! Lightforged Illidan would be using Fel and Light at the same time and be in a lot of pain as a result not that Xe’ra cares since she is all about Sacrifice.

Of course she will sacrifice the Life of the land to get her Light paradise.

Subjective. Not really rooted in anything. Given the track record of an unchecked Army of the Light in an alternate universe, Alleria seems like the less dangerous between her and Xe’ra.

How? It worked. Sargeras is imprisoned and the Burning Legion is in shambles.

I don’t even really understand what you’re tryna say with this post, but all I know is I cheered when Xe’ra died and I hope we never see that nasty chandelier again. If we’re to assume that the Lightbound is what happens when she doesn’t have a Legion to fight, then I can forgive Illidan’s killing of her, Alleria’s pursuit of the Void, and any other magics that might be antithetical to the Light.

Hell, I could forgive it BEFORE Tyranny of the Light.

I mean, the audio drama that covers the period of time where Alleria is being trained in the Void mentions that she will fall to the whispers eventually. The few times Light and Void cross over in that story, the dangerous and explosive event that nevertheless seems to give true insight into the future, reinforces that fate for her. She’s accepted that fate and that seems to give her some measure of control over it but she is taking power to help us now at the cost of becoming a roadblock later. That’s not even the subtext of her story, it’s the literal text.

Whether or not that roadblock ends up being more dangerous then the true intentions of the naaru or alt-timeline Yrel remains to be seen. But she is a danger. She’s chosen to be one.

Said fall to the Void is shown in the visions in the Audio Drama as either serving N’Zoth or consuming his remains. The Void chose her to either serve or consume N’Zoth and neither happened!

The first one was merely the Horrific Visions(which we constantly kill) and the second one would logistically only be possible if the Forge of Origination were activated Re-Originating Azeroth into the Black Empire as Horrific Visions Alleria has direct access to N’Zoth’s location and thus be able to absorb his Re-Originated Remains.

In otherwords the real Alleria is less a candidate as a threat than Yrel is. The Forge of Origination is what primarily threatens to bring us evil Alleria now not Alleria’s use of the Void!

It’d be interesting to see Xe’ra succumb to the void phase of her cycle at some point and go full Old God “all is true, madness for everyone!” as the antithesis to her light extremism. Then we purify her and get to watch her awkwardly treat it like an “oh god what did I do last night?” drunken escapade.

Not subjective, judging by the track record of void/shadow/old god magic users, the odds of Alleria and the Void Elves eventually going insane and becoming a threat are very great.

Maybe, perhaps, eventuelly, that’s are wishes from you, no facts

Would you care to show me any examples of void users prior to Alleria, Void Elves, and Locus walker not eventually going insane?

The lore of void elves and Alleria is to wield the void without insanity, that’s their theme

No thats not their lore, plenty of void elves currently show symptoms of insanity, like the ones on the island expeditions.

Locus walker had his power for a long time and hasn’t turned insane… apparently. There isn’t a figure, but it was implied to a be a while that his home planet was destroyed.

Alleria and him have also been using the Void for about 500± 1000+ years now so…

If the Void cant take her quick, it will grind her down over time, the whispers are ceaseless. Her choice to use that evil magic was the wrong one.

Or she could become more resistant due to constant exposure.
