Korthia’s meant to be more of a subzone than a large standalone one. The entire Maw is the center point of 9.1’s story. Korthia is only an extension of that setting.

I kind of like the smallness. It’s cozy and easy to get around.

i havent explored beyond the hub yet. it looks small but i’m okay with that.

Why?

gnome friendly zone

I‘m on EU. Is the zone small but super dense again? :frowning:

Other than that, I‘m looking forward to play later

GD seems to forget that an x.1 patch isn’t supposed to be filled with meaty content, that’s typically saved for x.2 and x.3.

What we got for 9.1 is quite a lot given that this isn’t one of the “major” patches, when it’s normally just a few quests that explains why this raid is happening.

small and contorted, the current bliz design goal for zones

Yeah and you’re conveniently forgetting that a .1 patch isn’t supposed to take 7 months to drop.

It is, but that’s a purposeful design choice given how the only way to get around the zone is on your ground mount. If Korthia was as large as the Maw by default, players would get pissed because of how large it was and how long it took to get from point A to B, especially since there are no flight paths in the Maw save one, which you unlock between the Korthia base camp and Ven’ari’s Refuge.

Reminds me of the Arakkoa Areas… I’m talking about the Cursed Arakkoa by the way… Both AU Draenor’s Cursed Arakkoa and Outland’s Cursed Arakkoa…

It even has ruins in it like Spires of Arak and Terokkar Forest!

Needless to say the City of Secrets may actually be bigger than the Eternal City Oribos… It actually has a ruined outskirts on top of the ruined Oribos-style City hovering in the distance!

Don’t remember having a new zone in the x.1 patch before, and you can’t fly there, so being small is not really a problem.

I haven’t forgotten, but I guess when there’s a negative, everyone will just focus on that and cry about it like a petulant child.

I don’t like the zone much. However given I don’t raid, pvp or M+, it’s the only option for gear upgrades.

I might try and find some rare tracker addons - the ones that remember which rares you’ve killed for the day. Same thing for treasures. Might help a bit.

The best news is any alts can skip the whole intro questline to get there - one click and the jailer is gone, and mounts work in the maw.

What a shill I am for pointing out the obvious. Be constructive or go join in with the GD sheep and make a thread about how 9.1 sucks.

  • It’s tiny
  • All of the quests and things to do are recycled around killing the same small patch of adds
  • The there’s tons of vertical and cave spots for treasures to random spawn and looted treasure now despawns. So it’s incredibly annoying to get to them just for them to vanish.
  • Same rares, probably die before you reach due to over used doodad obstacles that offer nothing to the game.
  • Much of korthia is to reuse old currency and force you to keep playing the old crap w/ the new to get the latest mogs and mounts. LOL endless stygia farm keklulz

This patch is horrible. Bugs, lag, DCs aside it’s god awful.

Just looks like the rest of the craggy region.

Well, you know what to do then right?

Go play another game.

No, seriously, just bugger off. People have waited a long time for this patch, and honestly? It’s pretty good. Certainly refreshing after 7 months of 9.0 content. Negative nancies like you need to find another game to play and stop wasting your time on a game you clearly despise.
