The new WoW Commercial

I’m so not the kind of guy who gets into TV commercials, but that actually managed silly and epic at the same time. Good on ya blizz, nicely nicely done.

I actually enjoyed this. I want more of these types of videos.
Thank you Blizzard Entertainment for creating this.

For Azeroth!!

I really love commercials like this, especially since they are showing races like night elves and dwarves instead of just humans. I really hope they do more of these! Maybe bring back those mountain dew warcraft flavors :stuck_out_tongue:

ya well, unless someone put a gun to your head and made you be a sales rep, then its not like someone put a gun to your head and made you be a sales rep

It’s kinda good in a weird way

I like it!

I havent seen a WoW trailer in years- thats quite cool they are doing it again! :eyes:

Not even the ads for BfA?

Say what you will about the expansion itself, but the ads for it were pretty good and got the main story beat across (you know, before it took a left turn into Old God territory)

It’s no coal minin’ but it’s honest work.

Ugh, but everyone who’s been paying attention knew that a faction war expansion was inevitably going to turn stupid, since you can’t actually have a resolution and still have two playable factions. That kinda soured the stupid tribalism ads for me, personally.

Fair point. Can’t say I disagree there. However, these are also the sort of ads that I feel could have been used either early on, or still used to this day.

From a marketing standpoint you go for the faction rivalry as that’s easy to explain to folks, not to mention it’s the sort of ad that catches the attention of the average person and gets them to wonder what the product is.

I myself would have no problem with them pushing similar ads for Dragonflight from more of a rivalry perspective, especially since the group we’re heading to the Dragon Isles with is supposed to be a joint task force. If memory serves me, they said it is a joint operation between the Explorer’s League and Reliquary, correct?

In any case, I’m over the faction war. Rivalries with certain Horde/Alliance groups? Ok, fine. Bad blood between certain characters for past transgressions? That’s fine too.

Full blown war? Totally over it as any major conflict between the Alliance and Horde just plays into the hands of whoever the big threat is. Realistically speaking, the Legion, the Lich King, or the Old Gods should have ended us more times than I can count. Plus, it’s as you said: all too often it feels like one side is favored at one point or another for whatever reason, not to mention when you get situations where a city gets destroyed, then you have to destroy something else on the other side, otherwise the playerbase gets extremely up in arms about it. You also can’t ever have a definitive end to it with one side totally dismantled.

All that being said, I’ve got Alliance roots and despite currently being a Horde main, I still consider myself Alliance at heart. I honestly think it’d be an interesting turn to actually see Turalyon go off the deep end and become fanatically devoted to the Light, but at the same time I already know just how poorly Alliance players are going to take such a plot turn.

NGL, even though that commercial is great, the thought of new players seeing that commercial, then getting their face wrecked in BFA dungeons and then shoved through the SL meat grinder, makes me cringe.

they can do all the advertising they want. and this is coming from an addict here. they need to make the game less grindy. NOBODY and I mean NO ONE has fun grinding out the insane power systems in shadowlands.

Wait a minute… Is that a warrior saying that people in our world cannot wield magic? Hmmm

We know nothing of magic since we’re always Spell Reflecting it.

No matter what they do people will still mock them and belittle them and call them all the negative things on the books. Even if they did apologize for anything people will still think it’s a fake apology and even when they are transparent and being communicative and listening to feedback and acting on it people will call it a PR move and some other things.

At this point I don’t know what blizzard can really do to convince people that they are trying to change as a company. I guess personally actions will speak louder than words.

OW2 just posted a roadmap, WoW could do the same, so yeah actions will speak louders than words…

I just found this - its very clever and I really do like the characters.

I actually kind of liked it.

Oh and btw… IT’S MY GUN!

Nice job explaining the woes of a jaded10-year endgame veteran who showed up 4 months late to a patch.

That’s not who a commercial would be advertising to and doesn’t reflect a new player experience at all.
