My buddy asked about when officer ranks will be reinstated.
I reflexively replied with “lol”.
C’mon Blizz, updates!

Coming up on 5 months and we don’t even know if it’s something they consider to need fixing or if we’re SOL.
Are we to assume the New and Improved Communication consists of unlocking and harnessing everyone’s latent psychic abilities?

Middle of the night or middle of the day samey same…guild UI is bad and we need it to be good. Keep on posting sos they can keep on knowing were still here, watching, waiting, hoping.
I’m sure there’s some sort of achievement for going over 9000.
Continuing my read-through. Here is a post (Aug 9–still before the ability to edit one’s own information was put back in) where a guild master explains how their guild used to function and how they’re attempting to adjust to the changes.
I sometimes want to contact some of these earlier posters to ask how things are working for them now. Have they managed to fit the changes into their guild structure? Are they just making do? Did their guild simply fall apart?
Personally, I hope they’ve all found a fix that works for them, but these permissions still need to be separated out and not all lumped under “is officer”. I’m pinning a lot of hope on the upcoming patch–but I’m not holding my breath.
You are not alone.
My guild is just making do. It’s far less than ideal. I especially miss being able to have a sort of junior officer rank. It’s a lot harder to facilitate effective communication among key members in my guild who I don’t currently want or need to have as full officers.
I think that’s probably most of us right now. Anxiously waiting with all appendages crossed, but by now we know better than to count on it.
I wanted to check it to see if anything had been done for our guilds. Sad to see it’s still unchanged. My guild of roughly 70-80 active members (who have been playing since WoD) have all but stopped logging in. I am waiting for permission fixes to play seriously again. Let my sub run out until then. Wanted to leave my mark here so Blizz knows why they lost this paying customer. BUT ALAS, I remain hopeful.
It’s by far not the worst thing Blizzard has ever done, but it’s such an unnecessary annoyance to guild leaders. I’m hoping 8.1 fixes this.
there is no fix on the PTR… so, no fix… which goes right along with the whole ‘no communication’ thing…
Bleh.
Ok, so let me get this straight: guys that are playing in non-content oriented guilds, guilds that are family guilds, guilds that are on their last gasp…they are having a hard time with the new guild UI? People that are unsubscribed care about this too? Whoaaaa…
Guys…get a grip. No guild that I know of ( I run the only guild leader Community on my server) cares about this. Guild leaders on other servers that are crushing content don’t care about this. Let me guess why you care about this…wait I can’t actually think of a simple reason.
This ought to get easily 10 more super-hyper, angry, disgusted posts going to keep this thread alive. Copy/paste away and dissect each and every line for it’s super-secret message lol…
Maybe you and your guild should do some of this “content” you’re talking about before running your mouth and trying to run other guilds down. Nice try though. lol

So…is this your super secret way of bumping the thread?
It’s NOT the UI that’s the issue. It’s having all the permissions lumped under a single box labeled “is officer”. Post after post in this thread have explained why having the permissions lumped together doesn’t work for the specific posters’ guilds. And a great number of those posters are in Raiding guilds that have done at least as much content as you have. I know, because I’ve been reading through this entire thread. Which you clearly have not.
And why, pray tell, are you so freaking special that only YOUR opinion on this counts? If the permissions were separated out like the majority here want, it would make ZERO difference on how you run your guild. But leaving them lumped together doesn’t allow for other guild masters to run their guilds as they always have. So why do you keep coming here and pooh-poohing what we’re trying to do, if not just to bump the thread?
Check back months later and still no blue post. Yep they’re doing a great job communicating with the community. Not.
No guild that I know of ( I run the only guild leader Community on my server) cares about this.
So what?
No one HERE cares.
Guild leaders on other servers that are crushing content don’t care about this
You keep saying this. (Point in FACT: You only started saying this when your little endeavor to get all the guild leaders from this thread to migrate to the alternate “bug thread” that YOU created failed)
Now. Either show us some proof or
get a grip
and go run your finely tuned guild on your magical realm where all the little guild leaders are happily using the new guild permissions without care.
By the way:
Copy/paste away and dissect each and every line for it’s super-secret message
Paranoid much?
I think it’s hilarious that the leader of, “The Only Guild Leader Community On My Server,” can’t find guilds that are affected by this bludgeoning of our control and management out of the ~160,000 active players total on two connected realms and thinks that’s a good cross-section of active players, guild, guild structure, and management.
I’m glad the new structure makes things easier for their connected realms’ small handful of actual active leaders and their plethora of guild-bank alts.
On a server with a population of half a million (speaking from my own experience), however, Guild Leaders need a real system of rank and file–not this Fisher-Price checkbox. Most of us have stated as much–here, in other threads, and on other mediums.

@Blizzard: My Guild Controls are still broken
The number of people posting in this thread doesn’t represent the number of players and guild leaders that are struggling from these changes.
The Guild UI and permission changes are something that comes up at least weekly, sometimes daily, in our 3/8M guild and our sister 8/8M mythic guild on KJ.
Even if it’s just someone mentioning in discord that they saw someone was online when they actually weren’t, there are consistent problems with the new Guild UI among our raiders and friends.
My guild leader does NOT like the permission changes. We used to have a nice system in place with different ranks and permission settings, and they were useful and meaningful. After having the permission changes like this for a few months now, we still can’t find any evidence that these changes have had a positive impact on anything at all. It’s only made things frustrating for the guild leaders and officers.
The changes are unanimously disliked by our guild, and some players just sorta assume that because these changes are so far beyond obviously bad, that they have no reason to try and report these issues because “The game developers have to be aware of this right? All you have to do is open the Guild UI to see the problem… They will eventually fix it, no worries.”
There’s also the thinking of “Well I mean, there’s already a thread with tons of posts that explain what is wrong, so why do i need to add yet another post to it? Every piece of information that they need is in that thread already.”
We have high hopes that fixes are in the works and the blues are just keeping tabs on this thread until they officially have something positive to share.
Replying to myself from July - THIS IS STILL AN ISSUE.
Please fix guild permissions, thanks.
