The new griefing, and it's only gonna get worse

There’s a new type of griefing showing up in Remix, mowing though group finder content so fast that many get locked out of boss fights. I was just in a raid finder where maybe three or four players (maybe just one, actually, and the others were just managing to keep up) tear through trash and pull bosses faster than most players can keep up, speed-wise.

Thankfully I was on a DH alt with two stacks of Fel Rush and a Roll cogwheel gem. Hitting each on cooldown I was able to keep up but a lot of players don’t have so many motion abilities, especially on new characters.

I don’t know what can be done about this, but I do know these already powerful and fast players are only going to get faster and, even after getting their cloaks nerfed, and it’s going to get harder and harder for players to keep up.

I really don’t like this idea, because I don’t like nerfs, but maybe there should be a speed limit on group finder content? Not on normal or heroic, of course, where you make your own groups.

Edit: How is this thread still going? Like, three post down it’s resolved. I was under the impression that missing a boss kill would mean missing credit for the dailies, and that people were rushing ahead specifically to cost players that credit. I was wrong, apparently (I don’t really doubt it, but I haven’t managed to be locked out of a boss fight in Remix yet. I will be the way things are going though).

Turns out some players are rushing ahead and trying to leave everyone else behind, but it’s just to be annoying, not necessarily griefing. So, I guess the takeaway is, if you weren’t a frogger, or you’re new to Remix, or on a new character and being part of boss fights is important to you, just go for all Speed gems and gear and movement abilities with your cogwheels for looking for group content.

I still get loot. I don’t care.

It’s Remix. It’s supposed to be OP mowing down. This isn’t progression.

Do you get credit for the boss kill for the dailies? If so, then I guess I don’t care either.

Jeez. Just get new Wheaties already.

Yep! As long as you aren’t locked out of the instance itself.

It works in Remix just fine. Timewalking dungeons in retail seem bugged at times.

Not sure that’s really griefing, mostly just an unfortunate turn of events because of how Remix alters normal gameplay.

Exactly.

The thing will literally go faster if I don’t wait

So you’re saying these people literally run and destroy mobs so quickly they running straight ahead you can’t keep up?

Also by level 25 shouldn’t every class have access to at least one movement ability and gem? I know I had the movement speed gem and the blink gem before then

This is a problem in regular Retail as well, you just don’t see it as much because people have to go out of their way to be strong enough for it, rather than it being the point of the game like it is with Remix.

Short of total rebalancing non-endgame content, Blizz could probably do with a “teleport to boss?” prompt when its pulled and you’re not in range.

No, it’s just rudeness. Griefing implies intent. It implies that the people doing the griefing actually care. Trust me, they don’t.

Having been locked out of bosses in remix I can say that you do get full credit for the kill.

Seeing as this happens in Retail, I really want a mechanic to TP into the boss room after the encounter starts like in FFXIV. Or at least have a generous grace period before the lockout for people to catch up.

“I’m getting carried so hard so fast I can’t even catch up”

Never thought there’d be the day where someone would not only complain about that, but actually label it as griefing.

No strategy anymore. Tanks round up mobs and everyone aoes and blows cds as fast as possible. I remember when a mob would have to be sheeped or shackles or something and if it got loose it just one or two shotted people. It’s so boring now days. Don’t even think you need a healer for it

Is there a way to get a solo instance of LFR difficulty in remix? I’m not ready to attempt it yet, but I noticed the NPCs with lorewalker Cho didn’t include it.

lead foot in some form or another when pulling trash

Still need kicks and prio cc. Sheeping or hard cc wasn’t strategic combat. It was tactical. It was removing mobs from play. Respectfully, I think that after you knew which mobs needed sheeping, that was it. It was now rote and played from memory. There was no “let’s be active, bring that mob into play and work on improving our kicks and stops for it.

The current gameplay design is more about using stops, training players what kicks need stopped - and when (eg a heavy hitting single cast generally can be cast on tank No prob, but if it won’t waste a kick for a bigger group wide damage spell, should be kicked). I enjoy that more active play style.

All that stated, folks can definitely still plan to cc mobs. In fact some folks seem to prefer to hard cc one or two of the four caster mobs at the last boss of Nokhud.

This is so bizzaro world to me. I specifically started my timerunner 10 days late on purpose to be carried by all of the dedicated farmers. I’m more angry when people havent deleted the bosses for me in seconds lol.

Thats why im not doing LFR, but i was in heroic dungeon, and this shadow priest soloed the whole thing doing 1.6m dps, not total, per second

It’s lawnmower season…Whatchu want?
