I sort of agree but that is me preferring LoTR style morality.

The only actual benefit I see to sparing her is that executing her might have made reconciliation with the parts of the grimtotem who were willing to lay down their arms harder.
“Oh, she incidentally did some good, not because she learned or grew from her defeat, but out of pure circumstance” is pretty weak. Forgiveness is divine, but there should be some legitimate repentance or regret on the wrongdoer’s part, and she is still a conniving selfish race supremacist.
Regardless, I still want to kill Magatha.
Hey we dont always get to kill who we want looks at Sylvanas sometimes they have to live for the greater good.
I’m so tired of this kind of thing.
We don’t need to kill every bad guy in the setting, but they should face some actual consequences for what they did and not just be set free.
Blizzard isn’t a company that should be trying to lecture anyone about morals anyway.
Magatha did nothing wrong.
I remember I absolutely loathed Magatha. She was up there with characters like Garrosh and Arthas - characters of ill repute with little worth. Bad seeds. And not particularly fun characters. I was so mad that she killed Cairne, when Cairne might have killed Garrosh and saved us all from MoP and WoD.
But then I got to hang with her in Legion. And I thought she was pretty cool.
All the hate melted away with her little joke about how a skilled Shaman can make portals and we just aren’t as good as her. I was like : “this is my kind of gal.”
I spent time with Garrosh since BC and every moment with him made me hate him more. But a quest chain with Magatha, and it changed my opinion.
I am a sucker for a good laugh, even at my own expense.
I am glad she wasn’t killed off during Dragonflight. It would have made sense to just throw her in with the Primalists to give them a name for us to connect to - I am glad they just threw in some other Grimtotem.
I would like Baine to get some justice for his dad one day… but the way he wasn’t willing to let people get justice for Taurajo… I guess that makes him consistent. No justice for anyone, not him or the victims of Taurajo.
I hope she comes back and leads the Tauren to a better future.
I’m against killing her just because there’s so few Tauren characters as is.
Yes. And most of them are just Baine copies. Dezco, Hamuul and Aponi are super boring.
Most people won’t admit it, but she’s the ONLY interesting tauren NPC we got
I only just got around to finishing legion shaman quests and the way they have Magatha there is also done so obnoxiously, basically “shut up she’s helping” and that’s it. The mage storyline treats both of the Manastorms as more serious former antagonists despite them having been joke characters the whole run of the game.
I want to know what Atikka Moonchaser is up to. He was a Tauren NPC in BfA :
“There may be blood on the Horde’s hands, but there is no purpose in washing them until the Alliance is shattered.”
I forgot all about him. Now I’m curious about him also. He does have a point though. Alliance has gotten away with far too much
I hate the fact that this is like 50% true (the percentage drops if you blur the line between Kalimdor Tauren and HM Tauren).
Tend to agree.
Part of the problem is we have a fairly standard trope of only the leaders being granted such a consideration though. Underlings all get ended while bosses get the whole “If I kill you, I’ll be no better than you.” treatment which is generally invalidated by the trail of bodies leading to that moment.
They keep a very strict tally of the body counts, which villains exploit by always having one more henchman than the number of people they kill, hence the expression.
He’s right. Magatha is a complicated figure. She’s not a generic bad guy like the Jailer. Jaina has more blood on her hands than Magatha.
Magatha has done less evil stuff that supposed “good guys” (gfys Jaina) and she helped fight the Legion. Yeah she’s a dishonorable racist but we’ve put up with far worse for less
Fine, fine, you guys convinced me. Baine can kill Magatha after he kills Jaina.
