The missing blade (spoilers)

after the blade disappears after xal left it, we sense that it is speaking through a new voice, whose voice? we know it serves n’zoths will is it his voice speaking through it? is it a remnant of y’shaarj as it is rumored to be his claw? and what is n’zoths plan with it and why would he want it in sylvanas’s hands

Sylvanas stated that anything dormant can be awakened and considering the Writhing Mass found in Island Expeditions(https://www.wowhead.com/quest=53183/wriggling-mass)… Y’Shaarj is coming back as the Black Goat with Seven Eyes everyone!

Alex Afrasiabi did say that what’s dead is capable of coming back when asked if the Old Gods are dead.

Third Chronicles have information about Old Gods. Every Old God, except N’Zoth, have been beaten, but not “killed”. It is true? Are Old Gods like C’Thun or Yogg-Saron still alive?

AA: I would say we should consider them dead. However as with all things in World of Warcraft and the Warcraft’s universe dead isn’t always dead. If there was a coming of forth of the Old Gods or herald of the Old Gods come down from the great dark-- I can see that easily happening. Not saying that happening, I’m just saying death isn’t the end of the line in World of Warcraft, and it really never has been. I think that’s kind of been from your character to the world around you. There is a cycle.

so, should we be worried about sylvanas accidentally resurrecting a dead old god in her desperation to beat the alliance?

The Old God seems visually different from the others since he is not shown as a Lovecraftian squid-thing but as a 7 headed serpent with goat horns in ancient times and is coming back as an outright goat.

Y’Shaarj scares me more than the other Old Gods!

No, its quite clear that she will out smart the old god and save Azeroth.

Not you, DiF.

I’d rather shove rusty forks in my eyes than be “gangsta,” you rotting cringelord.

The strongest of the Old Gods seems more like a powerful Wild God than a Lovecraftian Horror like the others are. How Sylvanas will deal with Y’Shaarj in Nazjatar is unknown.

Sylvanas herself seems to have a certain line of dialogue in the Xal’atath Questline(I’m quite certain it is her since it’s obviously not Xal’atath who has left and N’Zoth who says other things):

The universe opens before me. You may want to pray that our paths don’t cross again.
And yet, for you, I have something you never would have known to ask… A gift that you so richly deserve, my champion.
Know that you did help to stop those paltry invasions – and by that, we have now opened the door for something bigger from Nazjatar.

She seems to gloat about arranging Y’Shaarj’s return in Nazjatar which is located where the Well of Eternity AKA the wound left behind from his death once was!

She also brags about making her grand escape from Azeroth(away from any arrows pointed at her) while leaving us to deal with both Y’Shaarj and N’Zoth!

or maybe the voice line simply didnt make the cut. as far as we know her only lines is her going on about how she wants to awaken whatever is dormant in xal’s old blade, and will light the path

A bit off the mark, its clear that Sylvanas will use knaifu’s corpse to fuse with calia (a clear analogy to enlightened centrism) to become the perfect queen.

THEN she outsmarts the old gods and save Azeroth.

a light undead and necromantic undead, wont they just end up destroying each other

hey, if Alleria and Turalyon can bang without destroying reality, then Sylv can rip off dragonball :stuck_out_tongue:

can they? i dont think that has been established

i think it was in the comic, but they have to be really careful tho

Accidentally?

Honestly, if she does end up working for the Old Gods I suspect it will be more of an Ashzara-esque deal. She will be facing death, with no Valkyr to save her, and N’zoth will offer her a deal. Join him, serve him and he will save her. So, if she does help resurrect any old god, or perhaps multiple old gods, it will be knowingly.

I’m cancelling my sub until we get a cinematic of how Turalyon and Alleria banging.

… f-for lore clarification of course.

Well, at the very least, they seem able to make contact with each other now without pain or visible ill effects, in the short story they were both in, they could not even touch without serious agony, if I recall correctly.
