I get what you’re saying. Once they announced what they were doing with the client retrofit, it made sense to me just from a security standpoint alone. But retrofits are retrofits… They never seem quite right.
Personally, I was indifferent on the AV thing. I’d play either. My primary complaint about AV isn’t the version… it’s the way it’s played. I suspect it’d be an issue for me regardless.
Crossrealm battlegrounds were not a new thing - they arrived during TBC. They’re absolutely essential to keep battlegrounds alive.
@Corpseknife and @Lease get it.
I agree.
WoW Classic should be its own game with its own subscription.
Currently it feels like I’m supporting modern retail WoW which I do not want to do what so ever because it’s complete garbage. All I play is Classic, and that’s all I want to pay for.
Classic WoW gives so much more incentive to be immersed in the world, to roleplay, to socialize, etc, etc. It’s way comfy compared to modern MMORPGs, and its playerbase should be set apart from the lame-o meta-gaming players of retail. Removing things like world buffs would be healthy for the longevity of the player base to do end-game content instead of getting burned out on what feels like a chore.
TL;DR
Make it fun instead of a chore or your game will be occupied with try-hard meta-gaming chore-lovers instead of fun-loving, roleplayer type players.
