We have 2 light based classes
we have 1 light based dps spec
We have 0 void based classes
we have 2 void based dps specs
Please help. We need a light based caster or something it’s ridiculous. Shadow priest is dumb
Careful what you wish for. We had one void caster spec already and then the monkey paw gave us another one, in demon hunters of all things. A second light based dps would probably wind up being a melee warlock spec.

Just going off of the numbers here I think it’s clear that we need a void based class to even things out since having 2 light classes to the 0 void classes is unfairly balanced to be in the favor of the light

Except there are those of us who enjoy it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for adding second light based DPS spec to priest but I don’t understand why shadow gets so much hate. There are even priest players in the community who level/quest as either disc or holy because they refuse to even touch shadow.

I could see a new light spec being born in tlt because of the anshe lore
Mage light based dps spec. “tHe lIgHt iS jUsT PoWeR” so why can’t a mage study and utilize that power without all the religious baggage that comes with paladins and priests.
Mages should be able to use any of these interchangeable non-morality-laiden generic space-powers.

We can solve all the above issues, but it will make some people mad.
- Remove Shadow spec from Priest.
- Replace Shadow Priest with a holy DPS caster.
- Put Shadow spec on a new Witch class.
- Give Witch Necromancer and Witch Doctor specs
Now we have a whole class for Shadow, a second Light DPS spec, and hey Necromancer and Witch Doctor wanters get something too.

Gnome priests aren’t religious, but they have faith that the light will answer them because the light operates on faith.
There’s no need for a higher power. They just believe that a force will function the way it’s been proven to function, and it works because yes that’s actually how said force works.

I’m not in favor of removing Shadow because as you said there are people who like it but some of us despise the Cthulu/tentacle junk and don’t find appealing in the slightest.
to be fair, hurting people with the light isnt very righteous, and healing people with void isnt really what the void is all about either. Canonically in WoW its hard to do either without losing your mind, so very few are able to handle it

Doesn’t matter, trying to say hurting people with the light isn’t righteous is comical because Priest already has that capability. This is just a small indie company who can’t get enough of glazing Paladins for cosplaying as Thor so they spoil them as much as possible.

I totally respect that and I think for you and people who feel the same, as you, they should totally add a DPS light spec. I enjoy all 3 priest specs and play them all for different things/content but the best part of the priest class for me is the duality between cosmic forces of shadow and light; removing shadow would ruin that part of the class fantasy for me and even ruin the current class fantasy of disc since it is meant to utilize/balance the forces of light and shadow.
That said, if blizz were to add a light dps spec, i would try it for sure especially if they made it a nuke style caster like destro lock(my primary alt I play)

Lore wise it’s absolutely stupid. It makes almost no sense, it’s never discussed, it’s just there. This crazy psycho I void wielding priest chilling with everyone acting normal. It’s so stupid, if it had some representation in game it would be acceptable
