The Light And How To Twist It - Paladin Seal Twisting & Nightfall Uptime

It was a meme spec which was based upon proccing things which shouldnt be procced with sor and only functioned that way due to poor pserver scripting… the damage of the spec was then carried through the consumes which should never have been procced by sor scaling with spell damage… replacing sor with soc then meant far less procs due to soc being ppm based, effectively debunking the entire meme… one of the founders of it is one of the most prevalent bug abusers among the pserver paladin community who litterally wrote guides on how to bug abuse… enough said.

Good to know. So the sor proc rates have been tested on the beta ?

So was this ever tested? If so and it works, it would make a great case for bringing a ret paladin to a raid when phase 3 comes out.

Seal twisting isn’t worth the effort on most mobs. The ones it IS worth it on, it takes too much mana to actually sustain it.

Even with mp5 and int gear and using level 1 seals?

i think they have actually patched seal twisting to an extent, I cant seem to get it to work anymore.

For what it’s worth, I did Nightfall swinging during MC/BWL as a Warrior, and tested for multiple entire runs using three separate methods - Spamstring, Slam (When it wasn’t nerfed), and Bloodthirst/Whirlwind standard. Specced into Fury for the Flurry procs, reliably keeping up 30% attack speed.

Spamstring, doing nothing BUT Hamstring while having enough rage for every single GCD, I got about 33% uptime average, with a few instances of pushing above 40% for fights. Obviously horrendous for my personal DPS.

Slam got a pretty poor result as you’d imagine, below 20% in nearly all instances. Since this was when Slam was viable, my own DPS was actually ok.

Standard method stayed consistently around 22% while not trashing my DPS.
