Saw this statement while questing in Nazjatar. It is so heartwarming. Through statments like these you can see character growth over time.
To be fair before that point Gilgoblins have mostly been hostile.
That suggests that the Kelfin were not always so benevolent to each other.
Perhaps many Gilgoblins are hostile in general because they have to to survive, and the Kelfin actively try not to be that way.
This is why Poen is my adopted child. He one of the best new npcs.
I really hope that Kelfin happen at some point, especially druid. I love my Dino druid, but I’d have to change to a water druid.
There is a strong case to be made that gilgoblins were like that because of N’zoth influence or being controlled by the naga like this. It could also be a few other things:
-
Those were different gilgoblins that hobart did create and did loose their minds.
-
They just got seperated from goblin society and didn’t know us. maybe they had trust issues? Many things.
Certainly the ones in Nazjatar.
I think Hobart is body blowing smoke.
This would make an excellent mount for kelfin if made an allied race. I think I am going to try to make a 3D version of this.
Been linking this in a few megathreads. I took a screenshot of the new character creation screen, trying to work with the resolution so it wouldn’t be too scrunched up:
Seems like there is room for 6 more races on both sides before they would need to add a new column, as well as room for a couple more classes as well.
The important thing is that there is plenty of room now for new races, and I think the Kelfin would fit just fine up there and be unique. Hopefully, we’ll see more of them in the near future, where they’ll get officially inducted to the Horde.
I’m still of the opinion that one should be a special achievement mount and the Kelfin should get a special Snapdragon mount.
I do like that mount concept though.
Yes! It definitely helps that they got rid of the slots and predetermined ideas of what allied races should be like.

Fair enough.
My source of inspiration for that hair. Works beautifully. I think a curly hair option would also suffice well.
Here to give you my support!
Thank you! The more the better. Now of all times is one of the best to be pushing for this race to be playable. That said. I don’t know if I have it in me to continue for 10+ years. My main goal at least is I want to make it known this is a wanted allied race and also counter some of the nasty things I’ve seen said about gilgoblins. Once thats accomplished, I’ve done the best I can.
I see myself supporting my most wanted races for as long as it takes. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait that long to see races playable people want to play as.
Who knows. I also worry. What if they are added to the game, but only a subpar job is done. What if
This skin counts as the “gilgoblins skin”. Its nice don’t get me wrong, but I would love fins, tentacle hair, glow in the dark eyes and some more unique geometry. I should focus on being positive. Its just. Well see what lies in the future.
Also putting in my vote for gilgobs! It seemed very much in Nazjatar that we were going get them as an allied race… then disappointment.
Very much so and I know there was a lot of people who genuinely wanted this race to be playable. Just a solid enough thread up for it a while. I am glad I took my time to do this thread right so I could really show the potential of this race.
Kelfin would be a cool addition.
I’m in support of pretty much anything people wanna play. More variety is good.
Make players happy.
The interview never defines what a “rig” is. Most of us use it to refer to the animation skeleton, it’s likely that blizzard is using it to refer to the model and all the attachment points and such for armor.
So they took the darkspear model and fit it to the night elf body animation skeleton which is shown in early BFA beta videos as they were using some of the exact night elf animations. So saying they use the night elf and darkspear rig is correct from different angles/definitions of rig.
Plus from a production stand point there’s no way they would have taken the existing darkspear animations and modify them to the degree it would have been needed when the night elf animations were already considerably closer.
As goblins say “Time is money, friend.”
wow this is amazing!
unfortunately blizzard can’t pull something like this off

They can as they have done stuff like that many times before. Its more a matter of will they?
Thank you both
