You and I are friends now.
I’m glad. It’s only logical to give the alliance a new race like the horde got. Vulperia are a new race.
They don’t share any heritage (Heritage as in backstory and history with goblins of the past.) with goblins so technically they are new. I am happy for the people that wanted Vulperia but i was hoping the people who love Sethrak got them as well.
Plus they could solve the helmet issue by disabling mog on helmets and just add in many head cosmetics.
I also had a fun idea for a racial for Kelfins. Lungfish: They take a moment to switch between their lungs and gills (cast time). Lungs they can move normal speed on land. Can drown in water unless you switch to gills. When using gills you swim faster but can “drown” on land unless you switch to lungs.
I don’t mind sethrak, but I like ankoan/jinyu more. With race skins being a thing we could get both for a 2 for 1 deal!
Well they share animations with night elf so they can work. But they would still be classified as a new race as they share heritage with Murloks, Not Nelfs.
I’m all for it.
They can always change the model if they felt like it but yeah lol.

Mixed feelings. I think they should have used a unique rig and made them a core race or something like that and then give us gilgoblins.

Excellent racial idea. What I really like about this is that it is unique from the other water based racials there are on other races and it makes sense. The gilgoblin racial would need to be unique.

Generally I think a lot of people tend to be offended when someone suggests a race they like be added as a customization. Its a common thing that happens with gilgoblins and so much is lost if they become a mere customization.

Murlocs are also quite wanted so it makes sense.
It’s not actually a mog issue really.
Wowhead shows in their speculation on a Sethrak AR page that it’s no worse than Tauren.
Not bad. I wouldn’t mind it.
I suspect blizzard would only give us the one. Lol just cause.
This I agree with very much.
Wouldn’t be the first time they pulled a trollololololol thing on the alliance
If gilgoblins are never playable that it might as well be a similar thing for the horde. Same if they just get relegated to custom option. I remember this one person said they put those gilblin npcs in Orgrimmar to troll gilblin fans. Seems unlikely, but it would be sad and rotten if true.
On players with customizations I meant.
The AR’s we’ve gotten are wonderful.
Really begs the question why they’re there and the Ankoan aren’t in SW.
I think gilgoblins might have been the original last AR for the horde but “those” threads spammed the forums and blizz was like “ehhhh… ok, you can have your… fox people…”
Yea. But as they say squeeky wheel gets the grease and they made such a screech for vulperia.
Vulperia are based on fennec foxes and those things screech so loud the neighbors would think you’re torturing the thing. So i guess it goes hand in hand.
I don’t know about that.
-People also screeched hard for sethrak and we got mechagnomes.
-Sanlayn fans screeched hard for Sanlayn and in an expansion of death there is no sign of Sanlayn.
-People have been asking for ogres since vanillia and some ogres are technically apart of the horde. We don’t have them playable.
Furthermore I also have some evidence that suggests the kelfin would be about as popular as Vulpera if an AR. As for vulpera. A huge chunk of the work was already done in beta. Even if we had been very vocal since the beginning to an extent even higher than vulpera fans, I doubt it would have made any difference. Looking at the AR pairing. It seems to me that whoever decided the AR pairing was a ratchet and clank fan. I however don’t think its a bad idea to make it known that the kelfin are a wanted allied race.
They likely decided the AR’s in beta or before. But it is clear they considered a wide range of races.
I am not convinced the reception would have been much different if they had been full robot gnomes because a lot of the reason people have expressed such hate for them is because for one the Sethrak lobbying groups perceives them to have come in place of Sethrak and there is a lot of ways they could design full robot mechagnomes that would have people hate them.
I recall people was kinda worried about a full robot race would feel out of place in a game full of fleshling races.
One thing though is. If blizzard ever starts rolling out demon races, moarg and ganarg would be good choices in my opinion and both are cyborgs. They have some very cool cybernetics.
Also the Wrath ones are very much drones on the whole.
I do hope the AR pass gives full roboticism for those who want it though.
Full robot options in principle would be cool, but also kind of lore breaking for mechagnomes. Then again. That heritage armor could be kinda lore breaking.
