Sounds like Retail to me. ducks behind the bar.
While I did my share of rerolling in Vanilla and TBC, there’s only one RP realm and no way in hell am I leaving it. It sure would be nice if Blizz would close some of the new servers to new character creation for 48 hours to give people the chance to organize large-scale transfers without worrying abouy name conflicts and the like.
The thing the “just reroll” people are missing is that the new servers have queues on them and fill up fast too, so it doesn’t even matter. People have been rerolling, like 3-4 times now to try to avoid the queue, it doesn’t make much of a difference.
The warning meant nothing. Even the servers they labeled as low population at that warning are still facing 4+ hr queues. None of the original servers with name reservations are safe. People shouldn’t have to switch servers after they’ve spent time coordinating with friends, guild members and other players from the communities they’ve met. It’s not as easy as just moving to a low pop. Your choice at that point is game alone or get every one of the people you’ve met to start over. Those with big guilds and a network of friends makes that impossible.
Not really forgetting, just pointing out it’s two days in - considering how much time some people actually got to play, which isn’t much for some, 48 hours for others, rerolling on a lower pop server and getting more play time is a legitimate answer. Doesn’t matter how many friends or guildies need to reroll to make it viable, it’s the only answer you’ve got other than long queues or not playing.
Lemme know how your economy and playerbase is 3 months from now when that server is a ghost town and there’s no one left to fill a 40man raid.
Sound like solid friends and guildies!
Sorry but in OG the majority of you were not around.
We re-rolled on multiple servers till we found Lightning’s Blade and that was our server till they started doing server xfers.
Re-roll, it’s been out 2 days. People were re-rolling for weeks when Vanilla launched due to the demand. Yes even guilds. Heck even guilds re-rolled a few years into the game before xfers.
No one is forgetting anything. The majority of you never even experienced Nov 23rd 2004 and the first few weeks it to begin with.
I mean, It’s cool you’re able to ditch your friends and guild that easily. For many of us we’ve been waiting for this moment for almost 12+ years and for the month Blizzard allowed us, we spent decent time figuring out where we were gonna play and with who, so the whole “just leave everyone so you can play” is just a joke.

I’m CST, they don’t have any CST timezones.
Do you honestly think the majority of players care about the timezone of the server? They don’t. They roll based off of the name of the server and whether it sounds cool.
I’m guessing you are from either the CST/EST and thought rolling on a pacific time zone would work as a way to beat crowds, correct?
Yeah that won’t work.
Yes, they are.
I’m in the Mountain Time Zone. I play on the EST servers because ping from Alberta to California is worse than ping from Alberta to Illinois. I think a lot of the main infrastructure between Canada and the US goes through that area and the pipe across the mountains and down the coast just isn’t as big.
So the same as you but opposite.

If there’s lines everywhere then you may just have to wait in line…shocking!
