Yeah but iirc the Garrosh story became a sidestory during patch via Scenarios. Which was also good as it didn’t just drop for an entire patch.

The subject matter of Shadowlands WAS interesting, I got “Chmapions of Norrath” vibes from it going to different plains and seeing all these varying ways of life (unlife? IDK) all connected to the living realms, and I did like the cosmos aspect of it all.
But it fell flat because world building is only part of the story.
Westeros was great, and everyone loved it cause we saw that world through the lens of characters we all adored, but when season 8 came along and we ended up going “ok so?” about the characters, everyone seemed to collectively lose interest in the world.
The shadowlands world building, I thought was cool but you need characters and conflict to tie it together and make people care, otherwise you just have a world.
I don’t think the Jailer should have existed. Sylvanas should have been the mastermind totally, along with her same secret motivations and goals.
We could have had Emet-Selch, but instead we got the HR manager from the Office.
